I'd love to see Pavlik back at 160. A healthy, focused and determined KP beats Pirog and Sturm, and could avenge the loss to Martinez. If he did that, he would be the first man to lose and then reclaim the real middleweight championship since Benvenutti did it in 1968.

I'm excited too Boo, and I hope Pavlik comes back strong as well, both guys have earned better than how they went out. I'll be there live, can't wait.

What kindof comeback fight is this. He didn't lose a close decision, his Ls were horrible, and his biggest wins were against against a 41 y/o champ who was able to effectively potshot for moments, and who hasn't been especially powerful since......well, about the late 90's.
JT's gotta do some soul searching here. I mean coming back is one thing, but taking on a respectable opponent who's gotta know his history aint such a wise move IMO....that is unless he's fixed whichever defensive flaws were leaving them holes to be plugged.:rofl
IMO he should got him a few pasties outta the way first. I mean pure cans, nothing more. Cans who can't beat other cans.

2 of those type fight by early 2012 before stepping into the Cclass against this type of guy around next summer. I mean the film on this kid aint bad. Not a killer like ABraham, but a capable boxer puncher who could theoretically pressure a rusty former titlist into a TKO loss.

Given past demands at this point in his career even if Kelly fought for free there wouldn't be enough money for Winky. I don't see it happening.

If Winky wanted that fight, he would have taken one of the 6 or 8 offers Pav made. I'm a die hard Winky Wright fan, but the man has avoided Kelly Pavlik since 2004-2005.

JT's opponent, Jessie Nicklow, appears to be pretty feather-fisted. He has 8 KO's in 27 fights. Let's not forget that the guys who stopped Jermain were Kelly Pavlik, Carl Froch, and Arthur Abraham. Froch is a very good puncher. Pavlik and Abraham will damn near take a guys head off. My point is I doubt if Nicklow will be able to hurt Jermain.

Nicklow's resume only contains one name I recognize: Fernando Guerrero, and Guerrero knocked Nicklow out. Grady Brewer blasted Guerrero out in 4 rounds.

I think they knew what they were doing when they picked Jessie Nicklow. He's a guy with a "winning" record who probably isn't much of a threat if Jermain has anything left.

Well, you know medicine better than me, but....

Whether physical or mental, his body may shut down faster from a blow to the head now than it did before. Simple preservation that he can't control. We'll have to see.

Even if he is completely healthy it might be his mental state that is fragile.
There is a possibility of him getting tagged hard and just freezing.

There is more they don't know about the brain than there is that they do know about the brain. I'm sure post traumatic stress doesn't show up during an MRI for example. It is still a very real and debilitating injury.
