His people had better be matching him with a club jobber, Clottey-type of heavybag, because without good defense & a chin, he's only in for more health-endangering shots.

Some guy said Hopkins will fight him next and that's starting to make more and more sense.

I hope Hopkins does not do the Ray Leonard thing of fighting only his old opponents. Ray would only fight Hearns and Duran in 1989 in rematches.

Sorry to hear this. I wish he'd retire for good and enjoy his life and money. Oh, well.

I don't even think Hopkins would fight him for big money....

he don't want no part of beating the man down at this point.

    though...everyone might say...well...what about roy.

him and roy is biz and a bit personal...more about money than personal....
    this will be a shocker.

Jermain Taylor still has it. He just needs to let his body recover. People shouldn't right him off.

I hope Jermain is smart enough to finally realize that Ozell Nelson is his worst enemy, not his daddy!

It was Nelson who got between JT and Pat Burns. That led to Steward who grossly under estimated Pavlik.

It was Nelson who instructed JT to go to war against Froch in the 11th round.

It was Nelson who foolishly trained JT to try and coast to a decision over Abraham.

When news broke that JT would be in the super six, the first thing I said was he needs to dump Ozell Nelson. The man cares more about the spotlight than he does about Jermain. If that wasn't true, JT would probably still be the undisputed middleweight champion of the world.

And Hopkins aint no knockout artist. Taylor might loose, no doubt, but not like he did to AA or Froch.

Taylor needs at least 3 or 4 years without losing to find his confidence again.

I'm writing him off. He'll always fall apart late vs a guy that can punch.

Which is not Hopkins. So why not take this fight? But then again, is Hopkins still signed with HBO?

Taylor's well past it, as of a couple of years ago. Unless he's having financial difficulty, he shouldn't be fighting at all. But if he DOES fight, it shouldn't be on Showtime, it should be on ESPN. The fact that he'll be appearing on Showtime just goes to show how many people still blindly, yet cruelly, support him.
