Jermain Taylor v. Sakio Bika next? Wouldn't this be a great fight?

bika is one of those powerful dirty fighters that cause upsets with wild swings so anything can happen. right now I would imagine they'd sucker manfredo into thinkin he can beat taylor, just so taylor can have a tune up fight.

IMO i think a dawson v taylor fight will get made for august /september.

dawson has no real options after beating tarver and seemingly does not want a cloud fight and taylor will not fight overseas ever , leaving only a possible kessler fight on the horizon in america.

i think dawson v taylor at light heavy will be the fight that gets made as i do not see team taylor trying to build there man back up for another 168 title shot .

Not really. it should have happened a couple of years ago, and now their their both licking their wounds from a pair hard KOs, they need each other more than ever. Ward is still green enough to get shocked by Miranda. Whether or not Miranda wins, it's a good fight. Taylor would be best to rock him hard in the first half though, as it would be his only real way of beating Pantera as it is clear he will never be a fighter in the championship rounds. If it got past round 9, it would look like Green's fight with Miranda all over again.

Wow...sean, that would be a suicidal move for Taylor...

I can't see DiBella making that kind of a move...

More likely is that he'll fight Jones in a retirement fight, after Jones beats Lacy, I think.

i do not think taylor will win at all v dawson, but dawson cannot draw 100 fans even if he paid them to attend and needs a big name in the opposite corner for tv to get intrested.

jermain taylor i beleive will not be around in 2010 having retired.

my thinking is taylor has never been willing to travel, all four 168 beltholders box outside of america , so the only option for team taylor to make money will be v another american.

only name that come to mind is dawson as i think ward is with miranda, and team direll will sit and wait for a title fight.

outside chance green if he beats bute , but that fight is a way off yet and bute will be favourite.

i personally would like to see kessler v taylor , but kessler and palle , seem to be at loggerheads for anyone to know what kessler fights can be lined up.

Bika is far from a sure win for Taylor at this point.

Taylor deserves a tune up against a guy like Manfredo.

its disgracefull dibella was calling for taylor to quit if he loses..

    why?

it was a great display of boxing from taylor ,but fact is he met a brick wall with the heart and warrior mentality not seen since the likes of nigel benn i.e froch!

Bika would eat Taylors best punches for breakfast then ask him if he has some more, if he thought Kelly and Froch were animals, then he need not even stand in the same ring as Bika

True, but I'm not sure Di Bella will hand Gary Shaw Taylor's head on a silver platter, especially since Dawson is not a name and there's not much money in it. A credible fight for me would be Bika, but I agree it is unlikely Shaw will take the risk, especially since Bika is not a name by any means. I'm still thinking the best business move would be to let Taylor recover and hand him a retirement fight against Roy Jones Jr, once the latter gets past Lacy.

Either that or Green, if he beats Bute, yeah...

I disagree...if Taylor had been destroyed and KOed badly in there by Froch, then yeah, but I don't think he needs that much of a confidence boost...does he?

Yes...good call...passing on of the torch. I think these fights are quite likely...

...in fact, now that you mentioned it, I think Taylor v. Ward is very likely next, if Ward beats Miranda, as expected.:good

yeah i agree with the manfredo assessment, a much better fight for taylor at this point, as i think he'd have his hands full with bika right now. ive always been a fan of taylor's but i like bika's rough style too. look at the state he left calzaghe in when they thought...big UD for joe but he got battered along the way. taylor deserves a softer option at the moment.
