Taylor is only competitive with Toney for like 4 rounds. After that Toney finds him more and more with right hands, and it gets pretty brutal for Taylor.
Toney might be getting a bit more credit than he should with the "blowout" predictions. Toney COULD knock Taylor out, but I could see it going to the scorecards.
yeah he was not taking that away from him, but he was at his best at middleweight. james toney was a beast at 168, not taylors best weight, toney would have been too much for him
None has forgotten cause Taylor never was that good at his peak. If anything people forget how good TONEY was at his peak. Alot of the new fans prob think that James was always a fat slob. Prior to Jones beating him many considered Toney P4P #1. Toney on his best day had the talent and skills to compete with ANY middle in history(except for Jones). Taylor doesnt. Theres an agenda behind you hyping Taylor, and we all see it. A prime Toney wipes his ass with Taylor AND he goes to prison for 1st degree murder vs Pavlik.
Take Taylor from B-Hop 1 or 2 and match him up with the Toney that drew with Mike McCallu...Taylor would be beat up horribly and surely knocked out. Two different classes of fighter.
Toney was robbed in the first McCallum fight I thought. I thought he clearly beat Mike in that fight. But either way, Toney was excellent in the first McCallum fight, and that fight was a BRILLIANT war/chessmatch between two master techncians. Unlike Taylor-Hopkins 1, which was a sloppy ass fight with Taylor doing more missing then landing, and Hopkins not doing a goddamn thing! Toney woulda countered Taylor's sloppy ass to death.
Exactly......when Hopkins let his hands go, what happened? He was landing flush counterpunches and driving him into the ropes. Taylor wouldn't have the luxury of not getting hit for 8 rounds here. James's body work would also make Taylor fade even faster than usual. This would wind up a clinic after a while.
McCallum woulda killed Taylor also. The body snatcher woulda beaten JT worse then he did Micheal Watson.
