According to a certain confidential site, that's the plan and Showtime would televise.

Also this morning on Steve Bunce's Boxing Hour, Michael Marley (Kessler's US agent) seemed sure of a Kessler-Froch fight sometime in 2009.

Is Spinks vs Latimore for the IBF title?

If so, why doesn't Kirkland want anything to do with it?

Yeah, it's for the vacant title.

    I'm sure he would.

No he rejected the fight because he was in line ranked ahead of Latimore

As the #2 ranked fighter, he's entitled to a shot before Latimore or Spinks. Therefore he had to be offered this fight, against one or the other, most probably Latimore.

Really? That's interesting. Maybe his team didn't feel he was ready. Kinda like Yuriorkis Gamboa's handlers are holding off on letting him fight Elio Rojas for a vacant belt before getting in another fight or two.

Kirkland would have had to fight Spinks, Lattimore is ranked after them too.

Who can they get to put in front of Froch that is credible and let him keep the belt that long?

Because either of those guys would outbox the **** out of Kirkland. A runner who can potshot is Kirkland's worst nightmare.

Froch needs to pull a Clubber Lane and publicly embarrass the **** out of Taylor for being such a duckin, dodgin little b----!

What kinda fighter runs like that from a chance to win the green belt? WTF?

First, regardless of what one thinks about Taylor's stance vis-a-vis Froch, if the above report is true, Showtime is putting on a pretty decent doubleheader.

Second, if Kessler/Froch were to come off, that would be great news. Obviously, the fight to establish definitively who is the champion at 168 would be Kessler/Bute, but this is not terribly far off.

I thought Lattimore fought an elimination bout last year to fight Verno? How is Spinks ranked so high if he lost the title? Usually you get ranked at least down to five or six. Kirkland seems to be being pushed up the ranks kind of fast. Has Kirkland even fought a top ten contender?

Hmm... not a bad card. Though I would have rather seen Taylor fight Froch.

Spinks won that fight against Verno, he was robbed that is most likely why he stayed ranked highly
