Jermain Taylor vs. Carl Froch - WBC 168 lbs Title

Froch tries to bull rush Taylor like he did Pascal to start the fight. Taylor stays disciplined, pumps jabs, double even triple. Froch knowing he is losing comes unglued like he did against Pascal and Taylor beats him up and possibly stops him.

 

He can't get exposed as most people already see his weaknesses.And you're right,he ain't ****,he is a human being.

 

It really depends on how much Taylor has left. If it's the fighter that twice beat Bernard Hopkins then he wins a wide UD. If it's the post Pavlik Taylor then he's in real danger of getting ko'd.

I disagree.

The Taylor that beat Hopkins x2 is essentially the same guy that got KO'd by Pavlik - a guns blazing, offensive minded fighter that ran into someone with heavier weaponry.

Post-Pavlik Taylor has improved on his defense, rediscovered his jab, and fights with more precision. He stays off the ropes and knows how to tie up on the inside.

The smarter, more veteran Taylor is the one that needs to show up for this fight.

 

Froch is slow and keeps his hands low. Taylor is going to jab his way to a UD. That being said, Froch has a punchers chance. But then, who hasn´t :yep

 

it's because taylor is more effective at suppermiddle...he has still to show his stamina

 

I'm a little bored with these myths about Carl's chin. The fact is he's never faced anyone who has truly tested it. Yeah Pascal hit him flush with some shots that looked impressive, but in reality they were windmilling arm punches with little body weight behind them from a guy who's not really a KO artist, and on the occasion or two when Carl looked stunned, Pascal didn't follow up with anything.

Taylor's no KO artist either but IMO will give Froch's chin a better test than he's ever seen before; he's got good power and can put his punches together, usually setting them up with the jab.

If I were Carl, I'd rely less on my chin and more on my defense.

 

Froch by late KO. Froch is a beast of a fighter with the very rare combination of a granite chin AND a heavy punch. It's possible he could be outworked over 12(like Calzaghe would do to him) but Taylor isn't the man to do it.

NB I very much hope to make the trip to the USA(New york fingers crossed) as I'm one of Froch's 'rabid Nottingham rabble'!!!

 

Yes. taylor was a world class amateur but so was Froch, something people forget. He won Bronze at the World Amateur Championships

 

Taylor is the better boxer but **** it, I'm gonna roll with a Carl Froch mid rounds TKO on this one.

 

I think Taylor wins this by UD.

But I'm hoping that Froch pulls through and KOs Taylor.
