Taylor will have to outclass Froch with his speed...

Froch has 1 punch KO power, on the other hand Pavlik hurts by accumulation of heavy leather !

To be frank none. His fought everyone on the British domestic scene and is certainly the best in Britain at 68 now that Joe has moved up.

Taylor has the best resume, but that doesnt mean ****. Taylor also had the best resume between him and Pavlik before their fights.

Did I miss something? How did a fighter with his last two fights ending in losses and not a single fight at super middle get mandated to fight for a title at 168?

just cause Taylor has the best resume between him and Pavlik before their fights does not mean that having the best resume doesn't mean ****

I'll put another spin on that;If he was American he'd be an HBO backed darling and the next big thing like Lacey and Taylor, not 'Carl who?'
The analogy doesnt mean he'll lose though.

Of course it does. When one is a fighter on the up and in his first world title fight and undefeated like Froch then his resume will very often not tell **** about who he is.

    Let's see:

Siaca-Kessler: Your resume obsession would predict Siaca.
Taylor-Pavlik: Your prediction would have been Taylor.
Tyson in his first titlefight should have lost if we could let the resumes do the speaking.
Ali in his first titlefight should have lost if we could go by resumes.
and so on... far the majority of fighters that have later proven great would have been predicted by a comparison of resumes to loose... and they won. Quite silly and of little to no value comparing fighters like for this fight.

I dont think you can judge the true extent of Froch's amazing one punch ko power until he fights someone decent, fighting Taylor is the step up he needs.

To say that Froch has amazing punch power and chin at elite level is unproven speculation as he hasn't fought anybody to test those claims.

    my resume obsession?

I picked Kessler over Siaca when they fought, so your whole argument is shot to **** right there

i understand your error in reasoning. You live in a world with no grey area. In your mind, either the resume determines everything or nothing at all, while in my mind, there are a whole bunch of factors that I use to predict the outcome of a fight, and the resume is one of them.

You're also an idiot because when i asked what Froch's notable fights were, you immediately assumed that i was taking a stab at Froch and backing TAylor to win. In fact, I have not yet made a pick, and was asking so i can download some Froch fights and see what he is like. Even a fighter with no big names on his record still has notable fights relative to his own career (though i don't expect you to be able to understand this)

I largely agree, but if we all did that then we couldn't even discuss Froch. No more talking about Froch because he has not been proven yet at the highest level.

    ...

Or... is it ok to have an oppinion given that this is a forum .. for oppinions?
