Taylor doesn't look good against southpaws, nevermind looking good against one who is bigger, longer and more skilled. Dawson TKO10
If the Spinks fight is any indication on how he does against a fast, slick style southpaw boxer, I fear for his health in this, considering the difference in size and power with Dawson compared to Spinks. Taylor over Dawson.atsch Dawson TKO 8, every round won in the process.
When was the last time he weighed in at 172? atsch I'll give you a hint, it was over 2 years ago. I've read the interview where it's stated he can get down to 172 with ease. I also read the interview where he says he will move up to Cruiser and possibly Heavyweight, because he is outgrowing LHW. You want to learn a bit about Dawson, talk to his former trainer John Scully next time he posts on here. Ask him about the times Dawson used to pass out on his feet at the weigh-ins, before he became a LHW. :good
I would pick Chad Dawson, BUT Jermain Taylor does posess power in his right hand. If he lands Adamek style, he could pull an upset. But this is unlikely, as Dawson is probably too slick and too fast for Taylor. Dawson W12 Taylor (Dawson hasn't stopped anyone at the elite level, so I'm not picking him to do so now).
Dawson will once again let himself get hit too damn much, and Taylor will likely stop him. Skills might pay the bills, but it matters not if you forget not to get hit. An ancient Glen Johnson nearly sealed the deal on him, and everyone he faces is going to use the same blueprint until he learns to avoid right hands.
