Haven't seen enough of Tate to make a sound prediction, but man, Taylor's jab was a thing of beauty!

I like Taylor by UD. Sucks to see what his life has become after retirement but in his prime he had a good jab and was a pretty active/high volume guy. I could see him out hustling Taye to a 12 round decision.

Taylor's was a short time on top, but he was better than Tate while he was there.

I would argue that Tate's performance against Olajide was better than any Taylor performance

No great, but then again, we're talking about a guy in Taylor who struggled with Cory Spinks and Kasim Ouma.

I think it'd be one of those fights where the scoring is 115-113,,,113-115 and 116-112 for the winner.

Frank Tate win this one. Really underrated Tate was and he was a huge middleweight too. Very close fight but I'd go with tate

Those were really risky fights for a guy like Taylor to take. They were undersized guys but Ouma with his high punch rate and good speed is a tough out for anyone and Cory can straight up clown guys a bigger slower guy like Taylor. I have seen Cory fight live probably 20 times and I have seen him go rounds without his opponent even being able to play a glove on him. He might not be the most exciting guy but his speed and skill was off the charts.

I always found it strange that Taylor's management made fights with those two. Neither were mandatory defenses and I'm sure the could have pick fighters that were much less risky fights. Both those guys can make anyone look bad.

    I had Taylor-Spinks a draw actually.

People forget how much trouble Cory gave him in that fight.

It was damn close. Cory could be painful to watch but he was not a guy that people really wanted to fight because he was so slick. He was such an odd guy for Taylor to fight at the time. Not an easy guy to look good against at all. I remember how frustrated Manny Stewart was in Taylor's corner. He was really worried.

Taylor had an extremely low ring IQ. I would go with Tate in this one.
