I'd have to see Williams fight as a Middleweight first... (he is defo tall enough, And has the style) But off the top, I'd say Jermain Taylor would be the favorite.
Taylor by KO or even UD. Taylor is the hardest punching opponent Williams will face so far in his career if this fight happens . . . they are just about even in height and reach and Taylor won't back down on Williams punches . . . needs other justifications? :deal
Taylor isn't going back to 160. So, even taking you assumption Williams would be a good MW, he would still be a little shy on weight when it comes to Taylor.
thomas hearns hit probaably as hard as a heavyweght back in his day at middleweight. It is true that there is alot of mediocore heavyweight fighters hit just as hard as pavlik but theres alot more to throughing a good punch then just being hella strong (heavyweights), the main power of the punch comes from your legs, your stance, hit with a closed fist with the knuckles, using your whole body (shoulder, back), and cardio. no arm punches. when you factor all that in it is very possible for a middleweight to hit as hard as a heavyweight. most of the heavyweights today cant puch for **** and have no cardio but there hella strong. like this guy kevin mcbride, i read a quote of him saying he feels alot better and stronger now, he could bench 425 then he got knocked out by Galota, sure mcbrides strong but sometimes that doesnt realy matter. pavlik has good stance and cardio and looks reminds me of a puncher like hearns, although hearns was more devastsating. Jermain has alot in him, he didnt beat b hop for no reason
I Think Taylor Wins This One By Ko...williams Has The Height But Taylor Is The Bigger Man...jermain Is No Joke At 160 Or 168 Lbs...but With All Respect Williams Is The Best At 147lbs
i knew he had it in him all along... 2006-8 pacdbest + pacman = 2007-9 + walk with me + paul williams
Good observation. Nazim Richardson knew this, and that's why he kept telling BHop to keep working, not slow, and not let up, even when Hopkins was ahead like 9 rounds to zero. He repeatedly told Bernard; "An ass whoopin' don't mean **** to this dude." At one point Richardson told Bernard, "this kid learned to fight by gettin' his ass whooped when he was comin' up. Keep choppin and don't let up"
