Notable size advantage? No, Froch beat him because he's a better fighter. Valuev fighting Ruiz is a notable size advantage. You post like you don't know what you're talking about. Abraham doesn't just shell up as a desperate attempt to survive, it's a defensive ploy. Then you reference Winky v Taylor as rationale for how Taylor will "rip" Abraham apart? Wow.
I see some flawed points in your arguments. Stamina is a matter of talent, not just training. I don't think Manny Steward send his fighters in the ring underprepared. Taylor seems to be a natural sprinter whose fast - twitch muscles tire easily. If stamina was just a matter of better or harder training, every runner could compete with the African superrunners, but they can't. You point out that Talyor went 12 rounds many times in his career, against Hopkins and Pavlik among others. How often did he look good in the later rounds. The wins over Hopkins were controversial because Taylor faded late in the fight. He was leading comfortably on the scorecards in the rematch with Pavlik until the late rounds. You mention he did well against Pavlik and Froch who have power. Well, he lost all three fights, doing well in a losing effort isn't what he want to do against AA. How would the AA - Miranda fight be a TKO? I was there, you could easily say Miranda should have been disqualified for his excessive fouls. Given what happened in the rematch, I think Miranda might have lost by KO in the first fights without his repeated headbutts and lowblows. AA is unproven at the elite level, that is not the same as being a bum or overrated. Taylor so far hasn't shown an ability to rise to the bog occasion since his victories over Hopkins. He has a lot of talent, not too many fights were he maximized it.
To the contrary, though Abraham's style is less awkward, I think he and Froch are similar in that they are both hard counter-punchers. JT can outbox this guy. But he will have to abandon his tendency to go toe-to-toe with punchers. He seems always able to match power, but never able to match stamina. And I don't think he would match stamina with Abraham. Which means he will have to box responsibly, and keep AA at the end of his jab for 12 rounds. He can out-box Abraham, but he will not over-power him.
Explain the "false logic" that concerns you. Abraham had his jaw broke. When we say "good chin" we are refering to the fighters tendency to "fall asleep" when hit on the chin. Abraham survived it to the extent of having his jaw broke. And then continued to fight 8 more rounds with a jaw practically floating around in the skin-net that was his face. You're fooling yourself with comments like "false logic". AA is tough as nails & Taylor isn't. I've rarely seen a fighter fight with that kind of physical obstacle to overcome.
I like these comments of JT always being the better boxer. Oh, he's the better boxer than Froch. Despite the fact that Froch beat him at the sport of boxing. People say, "But.... but....but.... JT was winning every round before the 12th". Wrong, tide was turning in the 6th round. "But.... but.... JT was still ahead on the cards going into the 12th". yeah, and he still lost by a valid move in boxing: getting knocked out. Boxing is the only sport where the guy who loses at the competition (boxing) is still declared as being the better boxer than the victor that beat him at the competition (boxing).
The last person you should ever talk to about Abraham is Brad. Brad is PAv's P.R intern, and is the antithesis of any poster who likes AA. JT's time is up. You guys can hope and root for JT, but he lacks technique, and is not strong enough nor smart enough to beat anyone his size or bigger.
JT lacks the ability to fight inside, and you have to be in and out on AA to have a chance. AA ko in 8 or less...
How many Abraham fights have you seen ? If any youll know he`s a late starter comes alive about the 4th round just when his opposition/Taylor runs well out of steam. Abraham couldnt have asked for a better 1st fight to start off the smw tournament. AA KO 10
i would like taylor to win and think he has a good chance of boxing his way to a ud, but just have a feeling he will get tired and then get caught late again
JT's conditioining will not be why he loses. Even Miranda in their first fight gave AA angles, and AA still caught up to him at times. Miranda didn't give angles in the rematch, and boom, lights out. If you aren't a bit wiley on defense, a mover, or a decent body puncher, you have no chance against AA, and JT only has a jab. You need more than that to beat AA.
