Jermain Taylor would have stopped Froch

This was the fight that got my dad back into boxing after years of drifting away from the sport. He watched the Pascal fight and had mentioned that he had really enjoyed it so I made a point of watching the Taylor fight with him when it was shown on delay on ITV. Neither of us knew the result and the last round had us both jumping about the room like lunatics cheering on Froch. Great fight.

That doesn't actually contradict any of what I said. Calm and methodical doesn't equate to being anywhere near complete when advancing, which Froch is miles away from. Are you insinuating that he isn't abundantly flawed in that regard?

And no, Wallet, it's not because he had been eleven rounds. It's probably Froch's biggest deficiency, the fact that he's poor at closing down range, that was evident for the entirety of the Dirrell fight, and for the vast majority of the Taylor bout.

 

Naah. He was pretty gash for the proceeding 11 rounds but when he had Taylor hurt he ended matters in a clinically impressive fashion. I probably didn't read you're post properly.

 

I liked the way Froch rolled and knew Taylor was going to throw a left and let it come over shoulder then brought right hand over. Very nicely done plus the glove in face and punching through the seem was smart.

I was impressed by his coolness and also the thought that went into his work. That's my thoughts anyways..

 

This fight was a real 'Rocky' type fight.... Froch down for the first time!.... Then late surge in the 2nd half but it's not enough and needs a knock out... And would you believe it with only so many seconds left he stops him..... what ****ing drama!
