hmmm, i agree it was low CONTACT but taylor was more active throughout the whole fight for both. looking back though yeah, he didn't throw nearly as much as he had for other fights, like pavlik 2 which would have been a much better example
Ya know what? I hadn't really thought about things in the terms you just mentioned, but it may be that Jermain needs to quit worrying about winning the damn fight, and focus on winning rounds.
Jorodz makes some damn fine points. He's really caught my attention lately with his posts, esp. with so many dip shits spewing absolute false bull **** these days.
Stamina, confidence, combination of the two, or whatever it is Taylor seems to fade down the stretch at times. But Abraham might not be the guy to take advantage of that. He has a low workrate and might allow Taylor off the hook in that regards. Its hard to tell where Taylor's head is at right now but if he is fine mentally then he should win a decision over Abraham. Taylor has a nice style advantage against Abraham. An Abraham win by ko wouldn't shock me but I'd take Taylor by decision in a good fight.
1)exactly. AA style is not a disciplined, focused pressure fight who can exploit jt's weaknesses 2)i'm curious to see how AA handles someone who intelligently and effectively fights back. If taylor can work that jab and throw well timed combos (ala pavlik 2) WITHOUT moving straight back will AA keep marching forward or will he get discouraged?
:huh If you gonna accuse me of something, please..by all means, let's hear it. Just provide examples please.
Here's another point about styles and habits. If AA is getting blistered/hammered by the kind of combinations Froch and Pavlik got hit with, he'll go into his shell and back off into the ropes. At that point JT should forget knocking him out, or even hurting him. Blister him one more time, and move back to the center of the ring. But **** -- look what I'm doing here -- one more time I'm counting on JT to fight smart!atsch
Good question and I really believe Abraham will keep pushing foward against Taylor but not quite at the level to let Taylor's stamina issues bring him down. I think Taylor's handspeed will be a nightmare for Abraham. Froch and Pavlik able to catch up with Taylor but Abraham doesn't have the size or workrate to do the same.
haha, exactly. he'll probably figure "now that he's on the ropes...he's ripe for the picking. TIME TO TRADE WITH HIM" and once again we'll all be screaming at the ****ing tv for him to stop
good post. much has been made about AA's short arms and lack of reach and with good reason. if JT can keep him at the tip of his jab all night, Abraham will be reduced to lunging one shot at a time
If AA starts that ****, and I've seen him do it, JT could be the first guy to knock him out, and I don't care how good his chin is supposed to be. I've said for AGES that if Arthur apporoached a world class fighter the way he approached Ikeke, it would take Sauerland and Wegner a week to find all the parts to his head. (I do think Arthur has improved since Ikeke.)
OK, so I see you were aiming for Boo, and I wasn't aiming at you by no means either. Most of the cats I have some issues with have join dates of '09. You and Boo can go at all you like.
all good points and all true. it beefed me cause i really thought ikeke had the goods but his biggest fight before AA was Echols and a REALLY shot echols at that. AA beat him down but Ikeke wasn't that good during that fight. i still think AA has skills but he is unchallenged by opponents and trainers in the comfy confines of home and he needs someone in the gym that will correct these huge technical flaws before he pays for them in the ring
