Sure, he focused in training. That's not the same as staying focused when a 6'2 guy with long arms relentlessly sticks jabs in your face. Taylor has the skills theoretically to beat Pavlik, the question is, can he put it together under fire? As far as mental strength and maximizing one's own advanteages goes, Pavlik is light years ahead of Taylor, he can excecute a gameplan to perfection. Taylor has been thrown off his gameplan in evey important fight.
I've always liked Taylor. Nice guy, good fighter, alot of heart. I hope he wins. I like Pavlik too. I want Taylor to win though. Then Pavlik can go back to middle and defend his crown. Taylor can fight Tito, Jones or Calzaghe. Everyone makes out and Boxing wins.
That the difference of becoming good and great. Pavlik's on his way, just shore up your freakin' defense man.
How could anybody not like him?? Well, it might have something with those THREE gift decisions in a ROW he got from great fighters who were shafted!!!!atsch
Put it on slo-mo about 10 seconds before the right hand you are talking about: stiff jab, jab that missed, text book perfect 1-2, and then comes the right hand. That first jab was really the beginning of the end. Boo
