OK, you're starting to make some sense now. You just stated how it worked, only didn't mention Pavlik had to fight TWO WBC mandatory Eliminators to finally get JT in the ring. JT then tried to make the fight at a catch weight, which would have left Pavlik with NO titles should he have won. Pavlik held to his guns, so JT threw in the Re-match clause at a catch weight, probably thinking Pavlik would say "man, **** this", but surprise!!, Pavlik took the deal.

Now you know as well as I do that NO ABC org. ranks ANY champion from another ABC org in their rankings. So as long as both hold belts, it can not be Mandatory for either one to fight the other (unless one of them dumps their strap/straps:hey and climbs the particular rankings.)

Got it??? Got dayum. Only Public demand can FORCE this fight, and unfortunately it's only the hardcores (like us on ESB, and other boxing sites) that seem to care so much.

    AGAIN!!!!

Pavlik was given his shot because he was the #1 Contender for the WBC after he successfully completed TWO Mando Eliminators.

You say that like it's some really bad thing to be outclassed by one of the very top dogs of 168. Let's also, you know, MAYBE consider that not only is Bute a big and talented as **** 168, but a South Paw with completely different style.

Also has **** to do with the fact that Zuniga was promised to fight AA if he dropped his 168 IBO belt, but got ****ed when Elvin Ayala got the call instead.....

I don't think Pavlik can particularly control who his mandatory contender is. He is at the mercy of organisations there. I don't think any of us can put complete faith in these jokers!

He's really got to start matching himself better inbetween though. Or kick Arum's ass in the right direction at least.

Other than that I'm coming around to Pavlik now his fans have toned down and got some much needed perspective. I've been watching a lot of his old fights and they are exciting and he is a decent boxer.

I'm only saying it in the hope of a signed hat.

Nah..I watched a lot of fights. He does a lot of things well that I neglected to notice. Some stuff not so well. But the common theme is they are exciting.

As far as matchmaking they should have done better than Mora. This is a bit pathetic after he got his ass kicked by Forrest. How he then challenges for the middleweight title is a strange one. The others are mandatory, nothing he can do. I don't blame Pavlik because he does not sound like a chicken, he is just fighting who Arum says.

Jermain Taylor didn't care about the rankings of these BS sanctioning bodies -- all he cared about was fighting the best out there.

That's why he gave up his IBF and WBA titles when he decided to take on the likes of Bernard Hopkins and Winky Wright; they were the best out there according to fans and boxing analysts alike.

Abraham is the consensus #1 contender to Pavlik, and yet Pavlik wants nothing to do with Abraham or else it might be Hopkins/Pavlik II.

    :good
