I think just shock and denial and knowing that he's done and has no chance at doing anything special.
I was shocked to see it bro. I have been a big JT fan for the longest, but its time for him to evaluate his situation fully and come to terms with the fact that his family needs him in a healthy state more than they ever need some few dollars he could squeeze out by getting blasted out and sparkled off by someone at the 160lbs top. He will be a sad boxing chapter should he continue to fight on.
In his mind he overcame a huge hurdle, he got knocked down by a good shot, but he got up and won the fight, simple as that. I thought he said it pretty clearly and personally I'm really happy for him. It wasn't his best performance obviously, but getting past that adversity was really important to him, per his reaction.
Thats good and all, I hope he mended his mental wounds from getting knocked down and out in the past. Now, he needs to retire as his family will want a healthy Jermain for the years to come.
Sadly you're most likely correct. And sadly, his name will be used as padding fodder for someone, and JT could be hurt for the remainder of his life, if he already is not on his way there with all the hellacious knockouts he's suffered! He seems like a genuinely good guy and a genuinely good father to his children, I just hope he has enough wits about him to make the right decision regarding his health and career, for his family, moreso than for himself.
Taylor was raging like Mel Gibson there. You gotta scream real loud and fast when you're in denial about things. Taylor's always been class. He should get out before his brains are permanently scrambled.
It was surprising and kind of out of character. That being said, if he looked at the victory as conquering a demon, then by all means, he deserves to cry out. I just hope for his well being and good health down the line.
Lol...y'all are aware there are dudes that have taken far more and far worse beatings than Jermain right? I'm sure he's grateful for the concern, but dude in the opinion of the best doctors on earth he's fine physically. From a boxing standpoint I was disappointed in his performance but in terms of his health...he's fine. If he weren't, he wouldn't have got up...or would have immediately went back down. He endured and succeeded, pretty simple. It's funny that others are "warriors" when they persevere through difficult times, but Jermain is on his death bed.
