Same thing I had in mind. Remember how many punches he landed on Pavlik?

Kessler had Froch hurt badly in round 11 of this fight. Both Froch and Kessler have admitted that. Kessler said he was just too tired to follow it up. But yes... Froch has an incredible chin.

Taylor has been the only fighter to drop and genuinely hurt both Kelly Pavlik and Carl Froch.

Hopkins schooled Pavlik, but couldn't really do anything more than buckle his knees once. Martinez, a powerful puncher, could do nothing more than cut Pavlik up with his speed.

So yeah, Taylor was a monstrous puncher. Just didn't show in his record, because unfortunately he didn't follow up with it. He'd drop you and hurt you badly and just let you live, which is what hurt him in the Pavlik and Froch fights.

Taylor really did have some explosive power. It's just a shame the double edge sword of that (being explosive uses more energy, making it harder to stay in great 12 round fighting condition) was his downfall.

Insane chin actually. Though the uppercut he landed on Froch would have sparked other fighters out cold and literally decapitated an average man. That punch had me stunned when I saw it land yet Froch managed to get up. Some of the punches Kessler landed on him tonight would have knocked out other fighters. I mean, he was taking punches he didn't see coming and still he was there. Insane punch resistance, it was almost nonhuman.

agreed. Froch getting back up and recovering was the last thing i expected to happen. let alone stopping Taylor..

Remember also a prime Miranda, who if anything had power and a lot of it, he caught Pavlik with some good hard power punches but Pavlik never went down and just kept coming. Zertuche was also another mini war that Pavlik went through.

And the most dangerous of them all, the one that showed Pavlik's chin is seriously made of granite, the Gary Lockett fight. Pavlik actually survived the stare of death. Something only one other fighter before Pavlik, barely escaped.

Taylor's just that kind of guy that has big hurting power but not much as a finisher. We saw another one of those last night in Del Rodriguez.

taylor is just a bad style match up for anyone, prime of course.

Great athlete, if it was 6 rounders, he'd have a chance against anybody.

His explosive power could be why he gases early

Just watched it and he did genuinely hurt him with a right hand a little before the KD.
