First off I want to give 100% credit to Carl Froch who fought a very tough fight he did not give up and scored a great stoppage. He proved himself tonight as a major player in the Super Middleweight Division.

It seems is if Taylor has serious stamina and Chin issues. That is a bad combination to have as when he gets tired he gets hit on his fragile Chin and it is game over.

Does anyone think Taylor should go back to Middleweight or can he just not make the weight anymore? I do not see him going very far against the top 5 or so Super Middleweights.

I think his biggest weakness is his mentality.... closely followed by his stamina.

His chin is OK for the most part..... obviously when a guy is seriously flagging he will go over easier than if he was in top condition.

Surely he does some roadwork or time on the treadmill?

I think he could do 160 if he really tried, but I just feel the desire isn't there - the total opposite to Froch last night.

Agree with Beeston Brawler. I don't care what Taylor says, you can always train harder and he clearly hasn't been pushing himself as hard as he should. He looked soft and lazy against Lacy. I think he just doesn't have the fire that someone like Froch has, even if he does have all the tools.

His chin isn't that bad, he just has shithouse stamina.

Yes, don't think you can really blame his chin because it's always taken some heavy firepower to put him down. The stamina is a bigger issue, because that's what leaves him more open to take those shots in the first place.

You can't underestimate the amount of pressure Froch was able to put on. He was also able to chuck 80-odd punches in that last round. But pacing himself and taking a little off his punches sometimes is still a problem for Taylor, and it might be too late to change that now.

I think at the elite level he is cooked.

He says he cannot make 160 anymore - even if he could... two losses to a pretty average champion in Pavlik, he couldn't beat Abraham even armed with a baseball bat.

168..... Andrade would do the same thing Froch did..... Kessler would outbox him and probably KO him, Bute is probably his best opportunity of winning a title without having to travel across the Atlantic.

Dam Taylor was 14 seconds away from becoming champ again ..I think he needs either Freedie Roach in his corner or a Nasim .Sad that Stamina is his biggest weakeness. But hell of a fight congrats to Froch !

I think he needs a new trainer I mean the guys trainer has never boxed or coached a pro. Its was a hobby to him running a gym so he needs someone that is used to training professional athletes not little kids.

A trainer change is exactly what he needs, someone to motivate him just a little more, I hope all that Everlast endorsement money didn't hurt him in the long run.

Try going 12 rounds against Froch and you too will have "stamina and chin issues."

I think that his issues are unrepairable. I'd like to think otherwise, but he has proved it.

    Excuses before were:

Couldn't make the weight (he moves up in weight)
Not being able to connect with trainer (he changes trainer back to his old trainer)
He tired out needed to train harder (he supposedly gave 110% in the gym)

What else could this guy do??? Not much. Maybe he has reached the top of his potential.

i think it is a mental thing with taylor. he doesnt seem to have any dog in him.if he can win and cruise on his ability alone than he wins but when it becomes a fight he loses.i think he is a great athlete but he isnt a great fighter when he has to be.he should have played football, baseball or maybe basketball.
