No, he's no basing it on one fight with Miranda. He (and I) but apparently not you, know that Pavlik always comes forward & pressures his opponents to back up & with his workrate & when he chooses to send in the bomb, its no wonder his record is 31-0 with... I think taylor will be agressive early and be up on the cards until getting fatigued and a tko stoppage in the 8th or 9th for pavlik
He handled Ouma's pressure just fine, and he turned Marquez into a bloody pulp. Any fighter that has tried pressure tactics with Taylor has failed miserably.
Hell no. Why should he? He's got the HBO suits behind him. All he has to do is show up, remain standing through the final bell and everything's all set! A better nickname for him would be: Jermain "Gift Decision" Taylor!:yep
He has no intentions whatsoever except not getting hurt; for a boxer, that's pretty bad intention-wise, especially as far as the fans are concerned. So yes, "Bad Intentions" is a fitting name for Jermain.
I still don't see the evidence pointing to Taylor being bad at handling pressure fighters. Best I can tell, he slacks off when fighters don't bring pressure, and he's more active and has more counterpunching opportunities when an opponent presses. I just want someone to point out the fight where Taylor couldn't handle pressure. Ouma is not a good answer - he handled that fine and coasted to a decision. Ouma's punches didn't hurt him, so he didn't do much to waste energy avoiding them. Yes, Ouma was small, but it still doesn't provide evidence that he can't handle pressure.
Damn Psychopath, I almost didn't notice that ESPN type scroller thing you got. I need one for my avatar bet with Zakman.:think
It's not just Spinks, it's EVERY fight since HBO appropriated Hopkins' title for their poster boy!!!!atsch
Taylor should have 2 losses on his record already...but that being said he still will beat Pavlik...his athleticism and quicker hands will do the job, and he's gained the experience from Hops and Wink...Pavlik's a good fighter, strong puncher but i don't he can do much with Taylor because of the speed difference...and Taylor hits hard, not a one-punch guy but he can hurt anyone at 168 and below...Pavlik is in for it...
