I ain't gonna lie I love seeing Americans get robbed on the rare occasions when they use their passports but I had Whyte edging it even though I missed the first 10 rounds.
He's a great guy. Lovely fella and he'll give you his honest opinion even if it goes against the grain.
I think Dillian won this fight 7-5 or 8-4 on rounds. It was a competitive fight and that was certainly more than I was expecting. Jermaine Franklin is a legit fringe contender. If he had dropped 20-25 lbs that he didn't need, he might have won tonight's fight. He was well-prepared and had a very good game plan - but he lacked a bit of conditioning and you could see that in rounds 4 and 11-12.
I am halfway through watching the replay on DAZN, and I must say both look like ****. How can these guys come in so overweight? Seeing all that cellulite jiggling in extreme slo-mo is rather engrossing, like someone dropping a boulder in a pool. Sometimes when it sounded like Franklin was landing punches, it was actually the sound of his moobs slapping together I think. Since getting DAZN I've become even more fond of my rose-tinted spectacles. Can you 'today's-HWs-are-too-big-&-would-destroy-Joe Louis' guys honestly look at these fat old men we have parading as champions & contenders and not see how terrible they are?
You know what is funny? George Foreman and Buster Douglas were constantly bashed for being in poor shape but now we have guys in far worse shape and nobody bats a eye.
Guys like Dychko aren't getting fights to be allowed to develop. Promoters are sabotaging younger fighters to protect their dino's. Boxing is dying.
It was a close fight where Whyte, maybe deserved it a tiny bit more. 116 - 112 was ridiculous but a robbery, it was not.
Mortifying viewing. Seldom do I feel that embarrassed for someone. Ill have to watch this another 8 times and reassess.
