Well, they milked the Taylor gravy train for a bit, getting him those gift decisions against Hopkins and Wright. :fire

But justice was served in the end - in the form of Kelly Pavlik's fists. :yep So it will be, again. :nod

    Can't wait!! :happy

Pavlik entered the ring against Miranda at an even 171 pounds, and they were fighting at an "Official" weight of 160. Pavlik at 171 was a freakin' MONSTER, strong as an ox, and he looked fantastic. With the Taylor rematch set for 166# I'm guessing Kelly will come in around 174-75, and if I know anything from following Pavlik's career the past few years it's that he will be in excellent condition and ready to FIGHT ALL NIGHT at a pace of 80-100 punches per round.

I honestly hope Taylor does well in the rematch. Of course I'll be rooting for Pavlik, but I don't want to see a complete blow-out. I hope Jermain fixes some of his worst problems: going straight back when he gets hit solid, carrying his left to low, et. All Taylor has to do is answer the bell for the 10th round, and he will have accomplished something no other opponent has. However, JT seems to have carved his habits in stone. If he doesn't correct them round 2 in the first fight could prove to be his undoing. I say that because Kelly survived and by the end of the round it was JT initiating the clinches. That means Kelly knows he can come out firing from both barrels and not get knocked out. Under those circumstances an unimproved Taylor wouldn't see the end of the 3rd round.

I CANT WAIT till this fight! The first one was awesome! I'm equally a fan of both boxers, which makes me lucky. I will be happy whatever the outcome! I'm looking forward to this more than any other fight on the horizon.

I guess the smart money is with Jermain this time cause he proved he can hurt Kelly, he's faster and still powerful and should tailor his behaviour, fighting a smarter fight. B'sides Pavlik fights only one way and I cannot disregard that counter jab which distorted his face when he stretched his left lead longuorously, pretty much dragging his feet in that 2nd round, what guarantees one has that the walls won't come tumbling down now? Jermain was a better fighter with Pat Burns and beats Kelly if he fights at the same level as he fought Bernard...

If Taylor goes to the ropes he's going to get knocked out again, he just has to keep it in the middle of the ring and box for 12 rounds. He has a chance to stop Pavlik in the 2nd round but proved that he isn't a good finisher, that chance won't come again since Pavlik WON'T play around this time for sure.

KP's jab, right hand is what forced JT to retreat to the ropes. He did not go willingly. Plus, I thought JT did "ok" while on the ropes. He got hit with some big shots, however he countered and didn't stay there long. No matter what, if he approaches this fight without making changes to his style, he is "Dead Man Walking".

Same ending, KP = KO rd 7.

Fighting off the ropes tends to be a dubious strategy at best and for Jermain Taylor it would be unnecessary if he kept his guard up and remained in the center of the ring. The fact that he likes to drop his guard will not make it any easier for him to fight off the ropes no matter who is training him.

I agree 100%, Taylor is a dead man walking.

1 thing you don't do against Pavlik is fight off the ropes.

You fight off the ropes, his workrate and power will knock you the **** out.

What you do, is you never get against he ropes.

    YOU MOVE.
