It definitely was, and Taylor won most of the first 8 rounds, whereafter Hopkins started to take over.

Personally, it doesn't make me respect Corey any less. Probably more actually.

With this logic, James Toney should have at least 12 losses.

    I agree re Winky.
Re BHop. Bhop took too many Rds off--saving it. Started way too late.
Paid the price. When forced to fight fair, BHop was not all that.

agree 100%, he even looked pretty bad against ouma. Definitely, 100% lost to hopkins both times, 1000% lost to wright, and spinks beat him as well. I was really hoping he'd have turned out differently, I was big on him prior to the hopkins fights, I thought he had a good shot at winning, but he got whooped, and the hopkins fights ruined him. Not only with the beating he got, but the gift decisions made him think he had done enough to win at the top level and he didn't need to elevate his game anymore. which was then evident in the wright/spinks/ouma fights. After that, he started to turn it around a bit and then got Ko'd repeatedly. Hopefully the 2 years off will refresh him physically and mentally.

Jermaine Taylor has fought the best of the best his entire career. So he has some loses as a result. Protected? Who did he duck? He took on all challenges and gave his best. He was a great champion for that.

the taylor haters always trash him as being ****...yet he fought two very close fights w/ hopkins and fought to a draw with winky who was only a year removed from making tito look like a clown. if taylor was really that bad and really all hype, hopkins and winky would have made him look as such and the fights wouldnt have been close. spinks fought a damn good fight. none of those fights were robberies.

lets also not forget that winky had a chance to end this so called "hype" by taking a guaranteed 5 million for a rematch and he turned it down. i'm a winky fan but that was one of the dumbest decisions ive seen or heard about.

I thought the scoring was fair in the Hopkins fights and the Wright fight.

However, I scored Pavlik-Taylor II a draw, and had Jermaine ahead 6 rounds to 4 going into the 11th.

  9. I won't comment on the Hopkins fights... Winky was definitely robbed...

But Jermaine Taylor did not ****ing lose to Cory Spinks. Not even close. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.

Actually considering Pavliks recent turmoils a 3rd Taylor fight (if Taylor easily whups this Nicklow joker tonight) would be a great comeback fight for Pavlik and would generate a lot of interest. Taylor was winning the first fight before the KO and almost had Pavlik out himself and Pavlik barely scraped a decision in the rematch....they've both slipped significantly so it's a great fight IMO

They were all close fights. No one really looks good vs Hopkins, Spinks & Wright.

I give Jermaine credit for fighting everyone, but he didn't pick his fights wisely. He fought the best everytime out, which burns guys out and it burnt him out. He could have extended his career by fighting lesser guys around guys like Winky and Hopkins and Pavlik. He could do well in his comeback, but I doubt it. He never had much discipline for a fight plan. Khan reminds me of Taylor a few years ago. Great handspeed but not much fight plan. great amatuer fighting styles, but in the pros doesn't work too well.
