I had Korobov winning a close fight. Scores from 116-112 either way are within reason in my opinion. 119-109, is straight up corruption though. That judge needs to be banned.
Good analysis... Also, Charlo seemingly had no idea how to work his reach advantage against Korobov, who was exposing himself and occasionally going off balance trying to land with those short arms. A good counterpuncher like Jacobs would've picked up on that disadvantage immediately and made Korobov pay. The question is, will Charlo and his people be humble enough to go back to the drawing board, given that their whole brand is arrogance and **** talk?
I'm praying that they don't feed Charlo to GGG, because Jermall would get KOed badly. GGG hits much harder than Korobov.
Korobov was a good amateur and a southpaw. It’s not an easy fight for anyone. He was beating Andy Lee until Lee iced him. Not to make too many excuses for Charlo, he should still have had easier time with an inactive fighter that got no camp. But credit Korobov for staying in fighting shape during lay-off. A rematch is needed. Charlo’s reputation whether you feel he won or lost def takes a hit from this bout. And Korobov off that performance deserves a full camp and rematch.
Charlo should stay away from southpaws, Korobov landed that counter left whenever he threw it. I had Charlo winning but he was exposed a bit.
LMAO! I don't think I could keep a straight face if a Kat I seen wearing a pink trench coat tried to stare me down.
GGG didn't look good by breaking Brook's face in two? It's not like he needed a laughable 119-108 scorecard where he won maybe six rounds at best.
GGG was getting pieced up, damn near got lifted off his feet by an uppercut. He didn't look as dominate as people expected he would against a smaller man
Not exposed. He has always been limited and spoon fed weak comp. The argument can be made that he is a weak no. 5 out of the top 5 mws both in skill and drawing power. When he met Jacobs he peed his pants. 35 year old Korobov made him look ordinary on what was supposed to be his big coming out party. GGG hurts him bad.
I always suspected a couple of performances like this might occur against a decent - by world standards - technician and never really got why they were so hyped. It's certainly not over for either of them and words like exposed are way too harsh but it has cooled the hype that they were these two beasts that the top guys didn't really have any desire to fight.
I think the boxing community throws the “exposed” label around too easily and frequently. Charlo and Korobov are world class fighters. Not elite, pound for pound guys at the moment but definitely world class. They put on a competitive fight and won’t be an easy fight for anyone at 160 for a while, in my opinion.
117-111 exposed, the same score he should have had against Trout. The Charlo's are face first plodders and KO artists, with zero wrinkles in their game when facing more skilled technicians, skkkeeelllz wise, they're trash, @IntentionalButt and I have been predicting their exposures for years on here, the first time either step up, they get found out. Jermell already got exposed by Vanes and Austin, was getting exposed by John Jackson until his power bailed him out. Jermallo and Jermello have always been overrated, but carefully matched to not fully expose their flaws, last night they both got their punk casrds pulled on FOX, the grandest stage of them all, and it was beautiful to watch. Now give No Doubt Trout and Matvey their rematches.
