Great fight for true boxing fans, but c'mon Jermall, get real. It's not worth millions, it's worth what people are paying for it and Al pays the best at the moment. Take it or leave it, you don't have other options. It's either vacate & look like a coward or... what exactly? Go up for Golovkin? We all know that's not happening. I'm sick and tired of this primadonna BS.

Charlo just showed us his mettle. Sounds like another Quillin type fighter.

Bingo. Floyd paid his dues and took tough fights on the way up before he maxed out his bank account. His work ethic and dedication to mastering his craft was exceptional, and I have a ton of respect for what he put in to reaching that level, even if the last few years were a money grab. Skills aren't natural. Talent may be, but skills take thousands of hours to perfect.

This next generation sees the end result, and wants to put in none but a tiny, tiny fraction of what Floyd did to get there. They're entitled. They want the fame and the paydays, but they're not prepared or willing to make the sacrifices to get there.

Quillin at 168 can still make some money and beat a few Haymon fighters.
Look at how many big fights Collazo has had in recent years: Ortiz, Khan and Thurman. And he was scheduled to fight Sammy Vasquez Jr but he had pull out due to injuries.
Thats a lot of opportunities and good money for a fighter who lost to Freddy Hernandez.

    :yep
They work their way up to that one opportunity and then they expect smooth sailing. Heck, who did Jermall even beat to get a title shot? Nobody! Not even a single top 20 contender!

People forget how long Floyd's ladder climb was as well, and he took quite a few lower pay/higher risk fights on the way up. Contrary to popular thinking, Floyd at the lower weights didn't do a lot of ducking, he wasn't big enough to at the time.
