Pretty much since the start of his televised run. He was considered more boxer than puncher when he started.

    Round 1 Vargas 10-9

Better jab, cleaner shots from Bandido.

Vargas looks like the more polished fighter but I just feel that he won't be able to hurt Cruz or at least keep him bay and at some point he will tire and be a sitting duck for those wide power punches

    Round 2 Vargas 10-9

Vargas slowing the pace down and keeping the young flat footed sparkplug behind his jab.

...who, Jermell? (the Charlo not in action tonight)

Since always, for the several years since the brothers hit it big at least. Jermall is "Hitman", which is even more cringe and honestly disrespectful to Hearns and even Hatton. :sisi1

    Round 2 Vargas 10-9
    Round 3 Vargas 10-9

Close, Vargas hurt early, but he stabilized and out landed him the rest of it.

Cruz is limited but throws with a lot of leverage. Tough matchup for an old guy like Vargas.

...btw, I love that none of us gave enough of a crap about the Chávez familia's joke of a PPV to even make a placeholder RBR thread for it just in case ESPN and Showtime both finished up super early. :risas3:

Cruz has weird movement. Like he's the child of a rapey pitbull and a circus acrobat

    Round 1 Vargas 10-9
    Round 2 Vargas 10-9
    Round 3 Vargas 10-9
    Round 4 Vargas 10-9

Sorry, aside from a body shot or a looping overhand here and there, Cruz isn't doing enough effective work. Cleaner sharper work, again, landed by Bandido.
