I knew as soon as Tapales had that ever so slight stumble/shuffle when the ref said come to me that he was gonna waive it off. This ref **** the bed hard for Tapales tonight. Tapales should have won the 3rd round and had a 30-27 lead after 3 rounds. Instead the ref calls a official knockdown on a huge headbutt and it's 28-28 and he's fighting from behind momentum/rhythm broken playing catchup to the bigger longer man with better skills from that point on.

CEJ has been banging on about how all these fighters he's been facing at 168 are 20-30lbs heavier than him. He claims he weighs about 168 and if that's true the likes of Groves and Degale have 14-16lbs on him which is obviously a lot of weight but nowhere near 30lbs lol

Lol he was having a maranding nightmare moment I felt bad for him.Another two rounds it would have been a Maranding disaster. I didn't want to see him out on a stretcher. You know, safety first.

Watching Eubank search for words to praise Jr. is the most unintentionally funny thing I've seen a long time.

Yes, Tapales was losing but the fight remained competitive, and was close from the Tapales rally prior to the poor stoppage loss. And go back down? He definitely can't make 118 anymore and have you seen how drained he gets when even trying to make 122? Weight-wise, I think he belongs at 126 but there are way bigger fighters and punchers up there than Iwasa.

How the hell do they have CEJ vs. Korobov as the co-feature ahead of the all-Asian southpaw war that just took place?

Both are interim world title bouts and thus "equal" on paper, but... Iwasa + Tapales combined >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CEJ + Korobov, p4p

Jr. is a fraud, barely world class if that (more like on the bubble with Euro class, although I'll grant he's better than merely domestic) and Korobov was a capable world operator in his prime, but is well past that.

Not that BoxRec is the be-all end-all with their points system, but for once they happen to be spot-on: Iwasa vs. Tapales was a four star fight (as is Charlo vs. Hogan), while this one coming up is three star.

I hate that just being the son of somebody famous results in this preferential treatment crap. :ohno

I don't even know if he knew he got hit by a headbutt. If he didn't, it definitely would have been a mental setback as well.

This is for the interim WBA middleweight title; #1 Eubank vs. #3 Korobov.

(sandwiched betwixt @ #2 is Danny Jacobs, whom the winner may face in a final eliminator before challenging Murata for the regular belt; who knows? :nusenuse:)

He told the ref when he started counting that it was a headbutt. I heard him.

    Yeah, speed kills.. :xqw

A younger Korobov would have been able to counteract that speed with timing, but..
