I thought he was a true Lion. But he's just lyin. Most of all to himself and to the world.

Ducks Tszyu. Three times. Injury. Injury. Then the money fight with Canelo. The latter is understandable. But he still owes Tszyu that fight, but no way he's going to take it. Another cop out by fighting Canelo. Another excuse, but given the circumstances you have to take that kind of pay day. Especially when it won't be on offer after Tszyu gives him an L next to his name.

Also, he lost to Harrison and drew with Castano. Got the rematch but his record isn't perfect. Then instead of fighting Canelo he ran. Just as he did vs Timmy. Well he hid actually. But whatever. Same ****. He took a fight and did anything but. He didn't go in there to win he went in there to not survive, but not get beat up. Scared.

He was someone I looked up to Jermell. He had what I thought was a ruthless, dog mentality. Like a pitbull he'd tare you to shreds whatever the cost. Whatever the consequences. But the last year showed us what he's really made of.

Fear. And in the process. He destroyed his legacy.

Jermell hurt his legacy. He didn't destroy it. You'd have to do something extraordinary to have it destroyed, i.e. unrecoverable.

You want to see an example? Look at Buster Douglas. He was on top of the world after the master class performance he put on beating Tyson, yet the very next fight he came in overweight, got beat to the punch by Holyfield and then shredded over a rookie mistake....and to make it worse when Holyfield floored him, he didn't even bother getting back up. He even admitted in interviews he didn't have any desire to continue because he felt like accomplished what he wanted with the Tyson fight, so taking the money right there was good enough for him.

THAT is a legacy destroying fight IMO. Atleast Jermell got back up after getting knocked down even though he could've chosen to stay down and walk home with the bag irregardless.

Wut legacy? He hadn't done anything to merit a fight with Canelo. Ever. Canelo wanted to rub his power in the face of Benevidez. He did so. Charlos were never really in it. They just won the lotto. Could happen to you or me. Next Bud will use one of them to get closer to Canelo. They have become tissues on the nightstand.

best 154 fighter this generation by far. Now that he made that canelo money I don't see him ever having the ambition to be great again.

That’s actually not saying much, given his gift decisions, low caliber of opponents and his fear of Tszyu.

Losing to Harrison and Castano (robbery draw) makes you best of the generation by far? lol.. He was always just B level.

One of the lamest performances I've ever seen, so much for chasing greatness!

His performance against canelo was terrible, he needs to beat Tyszu and in convincing fashion to get his respect back.

Decent career. Did become undisputed at 154. Castano will be his key victory because what was on the line but I'll always remember that 1st rd KO demolition of Erickson Lubin.

His chances of beating Tszyu are zero.

The Canelo fight proves he was never a lion. He's a toothless jackal. Charlo showed up for a payday and went into his shell.
