a motivated charlo is still a 50/50 fight against timmy. Again it depends on how much he still cares about boxing now that he's made so much money and no longer hungry.

Good post. But Charlo has been champ for a while. He's had a better career than JBD. JBD was a big underdog in the Tyson fight. Charlo was an underdog but nowhere near what JBD was.

Good points you make but 2 completely different fighters with completely different careers and stature.

I'm gonna remember this thread when he becomes undisputed twice when he regains the belt that was stripped from his waist, then moves up to MW.

Surely winning the rematches against Harrison and Castano are GOOD for his legacy, and not bad?

So when fighters tell us they are this, that and the third, but fail to deliver, it’s wrong to hold them to the standard they set?

He lost to Castano in the first fight.i give Mell credit for earning his undisputed vs the guys that were out there. He did lose to Harrison and he did lose to Castano in the first fight, but was given a draw to protect his record. Beating both in rematches was a big plus, it showed dedication and determination. By far his best win was over Castano, who is very tough to beat, and by stoppage. He gave it a go against a superstar two weights up, but got put back in his place and shut down. Imagine if Charlo pulled it off by robbery or something. He would have been snottier than ever, cursing out all that didn't believe in him and more arrogant than ever. We would have never heard the end of it. Thank you Canelo, for reminding Charlo that he isn't in that elite club.

I agree with your points but I did think he was robbed in the Harrison fight & yeah lucky that was a war ridden Canelo & not the younger one if else it would have been real bad for him.

At the same time Hermel just made it that much easier for Canelo, served the plate with all extras & toppings so of course your inviting damage.

Destroyed? No. But he did major damage with his no-show. He has time to repair it some though. Just needs to stop dicking around, fight the right guys.

He had that next level talent but he shat himself and has ran away.

If he actually went at Canelo, he would of had a genuine chance. He looked like a school kid up against a high schooler.

    Tarnished himself.

I'd still love to see him fight Crawford. He could really prove a lot with that fight. If he made it competitive, a war, pushing Crawford in a battle. It would prove that the weight was just top much to overcome in a short span.

Nobody blames JMM for the Floyd loss. It's generally looked at as too far a bridge, in too short a time.

But if he doesn't come back from the Canelo fight and do something meaningful . That will be the biggest thing he's remembered for
