The saddest part is that we never got to see him face Tszyu. There was so much build up for that fight and it was one of the most intriguing fights in boxing. Just another fight that got over-marinated.

He did sign the fight. They were scheduled to fight in January but Jermell got injured. Then the Canelo fight was offered and Jemell took it.

Don´t know what is going on now tho. Jemell has given up all of his belts, which is weird. Looks like he took that L rather bad and is done with the sport for now.

 

I'm just here to remind you all that this is who Canelo selected to defend his "undisputed" SMW championship against.

Charlo vs Castaño will end up being the most inconsequential unification fight ever. Charlo never defended any of those belts, and Castaño never even fought again, and it's nearly 2 years after.

 

Both have fizzled to virtually nothing.
