He hurt him numerous times during the fight and Tex is a very tough and gutsy Irishman. Not to mention Castano is a blown up 147 pounder and Jermello is a 160 pounder who has been hiding down at 154 beating up on leprechauns and garden gnomes.
He was in retreat from the opening bell. I'd say that qualifies as not only moving him back once.... but for 36 minutes straight.
What? Like Jeison Rosario? Charlo has a bad tendency to freeze up when he's being pressured and pinned against the ropes, he only fire off a shot when Rosario gave him room to breathe. Thankfully for him Rosario has a terrible chin, Castano does not, he's a hell of a lot harder to hit clean than Rosario is. Castano will set a frantic pace, Charlo will freeze from the opening bell, never fully adjust, might land a few counters, but he won't be able to load up on them and land them that effectively. Also you have to take into consideration, Teixeira and Lara are both Southpaws, Castano struggles with them if you could call that struggling.... he excels against orthodox fighters. As far as the Harrison comparison goes he's far quicker, of foot, of hand, and of mind. Also, let us not forget, how many people is Charlo actually look great against? He look horrible against Harrison, against Jackson, against Martirosyan and against Rosario, and none of them possessed the skill set that Brian does.
I wasn't overly impressed with Castano, he should have KOd Texeira for a start for the amount he hit him in the early part of the fight.
Charlo knew Rosario had power and he respected it that's why he fought much more cautiously than he usually does. Against castano he won't have anything to worry about. He has a huge advantage in power size and speed. The more they exchange charlo will start to get the better of those exchanges and he will hurt Castano who will not like the fire power coming back him. Castano's work rate will slow and Charlo will start to bully and systematically break his man down until they stop the fight or he kos castano. Charlo also has a great gas tank and will never give up and never stops trying to win.
He was strategically retreating, like the Romans when they were fighting Hannibal. The eventually won as well.
castaño is not a power puncher, he always fights with a high workrate throwing punches non-stop while controlling the center of the ring. he only goes for the ko when the opponent is clearly badly hurt like he did in the 12 against teixeira. other than that he always fights cautious and looking to outbox and drown whoever is in front of him rather than blast them out or look for big punches.
Fair enough it's the first time I've seen him and I'm not trying to disrespect your countryman Texeira looked very poor and I would have thought that a top prospect destined for big things would spark someone like that
Tex is tough and as game as they come The unbeaten Adames was highly regarded going into their fight and he can punch This content is protected This content is protected
Charlo beat Korobov. But I think a rematch would be good. If it does happen, hopefully Korobov is 100%.
