Caleb Plant vs. Tyrone Brunson, 8 rounds @ middleweight

 

So there was a brawl at the weigh-in or something? :huh

 

Guessing this doesn't go eight.

 

Round 1

Plant is faking a jab and moving Brunson back in straight lines. Plant fires a 1-2 and grazes either cheek. Brunson is twitching and rolling at the waist as he retreats, keeping himself narrowly covered with his arms. Brunson tries a jab on the sternum and is backed off by a short 1-2. Body shots by Plant, hurting Brunson and forcing him to drop his elbows to his belt line by the ropes. Plant is keeping the jab in Brunson's line of sight and is countered by a double right hand as Brunson drops straight back to spring-load himself like a mousetrap. Plant busy with the jab, but not touching Brunson much.

Round 2

Plant is jabbing in on Brunson and drilling right hands on the body. Brunson is cautiously sticking outside, varying his defenses, folding his arms over himself, twisting, slipping. Occasional counter jabs from Brunson, very few unnecessary gambles.

Round 3

Plant is crowding in on Brunson, firing with power with both hands. Brunson weathers it and pushes Plant out to center ring with a stiff-arm on the midriff. Plant resumes barking and throwing hard line drive right hands and burying heavy left hooks on the body. Brunson is ducking very low, head dangling by his knees and below his gloves as Plant moves in on him. Double left hook to body and head by Plant. Brunson ties up. Plant is chopping away downstairs with sharp lumberjack left hooks. Right hand by Plant, shot at Brunson's left arm, knocking it away from his body, letting Plant hit it with the left. Counter 1-2 on the backfoot by Brunson.

Round 4

Plant stands pat and lets Brunson come at him with a couple of body combinations. Plant now starts working his own left hook downstairs, barking loudly. Plant lands the right hand low and high, with his knuckles perfectly flush with Brunson's navel and then brow. Triple jab by Brunson, climbing up Plant's upper arms as he skitters back out of the way but not reaching his chin. Plant is jabbing Brunson at mid-range, barking and stepping or dashing around, controlling the pace with his staccato footwork as he turns & jabs Brunson.
