This is a fight I would have loved to see had Paul Williams been around. How does Iron Man do against the Punisher? Could Williams present an even bigger problem for Charlo than Castano?

Paul Williams wins this fight easy, easy UD. Jermell has neither the volume nor the iq to combat the crazy pressure Paul used to bring.

Williams had many flaws that Jermell would be able to exploit.
But Williams was just wrong for someone like him. Jermell likes to wait and shuts down under pressure.

If it goes 12 , Williiams will win, only to get robbed and lose on points, or Charlo catches him at some point, then goes for the finish, and if he don't finish him he will win on points. By hook or by crook Charlo wins.

Paul Williams chin wasn’t the best but his volume was next level. But I’ve now accepted what someone said about Jermell that he’s entered Wilder’s stage in his career where either he’s KOing his opponent or losing on points.. ima lean towards Charlo by KO because I don’t believe Paul Williams can fight smart like Castano.

    When was Williams ever hurt?
No way could either Charlo replicate what Martinez did the rematch.

I just think Williams would put himself out of place too much for Charlo not to land a right hook to put him out. Castano is also s high volume fighter but fought carefully and waited until Charlo was on the ropes to unload..

I wasn't the biggest fan of Williams' flex in his heyday but when he put the beatdowm on the Cinderblocker man it was sweeter than a plate of carolina candied yams.

His defence was extremely porous but his chin held up pretty good.
Incidently I watched his fight with Mattyhsse the Snr near enough to live and thought no way Paul was going to make the rounds in the early goings the way he was getting tagged and how he was reacting to the shots.
Cintron seem to buckle him just before the ending of their fight, which was one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen.
He was probably fortunate that Maravilla dropped him at the very end of the round in their first fight because he seemed way more hurt than SM was earlier in the round.

Point is with how easy he was to tag it's inevitable that someone was going to rock him. But his conditioning was next level and they way he could recover was impressive.

Charlo has shown one punch power. With the ability to end fights and change the complexion in an instant. But his ability to build a stoppage and his often disjointed and wild attempts to finish a hurt opponent have seen a few knockouts go begging.

I feel if Chardawg could wobble Paul it would be only fleeting and he would go back to getting minced up and worked over for the majority of rounds.

A pedestrian points with win for Williams with only a few hiccups on the way.

Williams would have schooled either of those clowns.

Williams was a far superior fighter. He's stopping Charlo, mid to late.

Williams was quality. Never could figure out southpaw counter punchers though.

Charlo isn't one of those so I favour Petey to do a job here

Charlo should win this. Williams just makes his chin far too available and although he was able to take it as well as he gave it his strengths and work rate wouldn't make up for his deficiencies, at least outside of the welterweight division.
