It was obvious that Mel Charlo was bigger than Canelo in the ring last night, he looked to be the same size as Dmitry Bivol. He's usually been taller with a longer reach than his opponents at 154 over the years.

But eventually weight bullies will have trouble making the weights they drain down to, as men get older they usually become more thickly built and naturally heavier. Mel Charlo is getting to that age now.

I think he will have great difficulty getting back down to 154 in the future, and if he does, he'll be weight-drained and weakened.

Apart from making weight, I think his pathetic performance against Canelo took away lots from Jermell, mentally. Now he's a broken and failed fighter and he will have to live with it. He won't be as self-confident as before.

I think he will lose his titles against the first serious opponent he fights next.

I worry about that too. Though he seemed to take the loss pretty well in the post fight interview, his performence left a lot to be desired. If he lost but was more competitive, I think he could have taken a lot from it, but it was just too one-sided for this to really benefit him in any way. Then again, Canelo beat a lot of great fighters in similarly one-sided fashion, like Callum Smith, which was probably even more one-sided than this, at least Jermell didn't get his face broken and quit on his stool like BJS, at least Jermell wasn't brutally stopped after flalling around the ring like Plant, at least he didn't have his nose smashed and beaten to a bloody pulp like Ryder.

I firmly believe young Tszyu is the future of the sport.

I would be happy if we never saw him again, that was just such a pathetic performance last night, I’ll be surprised if he have any fans left. I give Khan way more credit than Charlo because at least Khan came to win. Charlo just came to survive and get his paycheck.

I think he probably can get back to 154 but would be better off at 160. That's the downside of moving up like that and especially in your 30s. Problem is that the fight he wants -- Crawford -- would have to take place at 154. But with the Spence rematch looming, it wouldn't surprise me to see Charlo vacate or get beaten first.

Canelo is bigger, bro. Ginger was bigger at the weigh-in too, weighing 167.5 with no fat on his body whatsoever.

I don't think that Jermell packed on a great deal of muscle and was probably slightly less sharp than he would've been at 154. There are definite benefits to cutting weight if done comfortably, which is why fighters do it.

He didn't train very hard and probably wasn't as judicious with his diet as he normally would've been. He looked like just a regular athletic guy, IMO.

He should make 154 again with no problem. The issue is that he just isn't all that great at fighting and has always been beatable.

Charlo cashed out against one of the biggest draws in boxing, nothing more has to be said about the match to be honest.

When you go through a camp without cutting weight at all , it makes it 10 times harder to do it now. Will be real interested to see his fight at 154 after this.

The only reason Charlo wasn’t busted up like the other guys is he ran all night and fought a defensive fight. If he came at Canelo aggressively, he would have paid the price. Canelo fought a good fight yesterday and would beat that clown 100/100 times. Charlo knew it about ten seconds into the fight and fought like a coward. It deprived us of a fun KO but now we get to listen to charlo’s excuses. Total POS disgrace (Charlo), boxing owes Canelo a debt of gratitude for taking out that garbage. Muchas gracias!

He looked the same size as Bivol. Can you imagine how badly Bivol would beat the clown? Charlo would probably fight a similar fight against Bivol, run all night. I hope he can still make 154 because Bud has something for him at that weight.

Charlo needs to be on his a game to win that fight. Even then it's a tough one for him. He's cashed out now. Going forward his heart and drive will be questioned.
