What's your opinion on this guy ? I've been curious of the charlos as of late wondering are they elite fighters or they are the most overhyped fighters I ever heard of besides andrade of course but what's your opinion can they compete with Billy Joe Saunders GGG Canelo lemieux ? Or would they get schooled and lemieux and ggg knocks them out ?
He’s definitely the latest hope of GGG haters, now that they’ve gone silent on Lara. But we can only find out what he’s got when he takes a real challenge at MW. I don’t think putting him at no. 5 MW is out of line. He might be able to beat one of the top 4. But just based on the eye test, I don’t think he’s anything special, and he doesn’t look very bright either.
He's clearly world class based on the eye test -fast , dynamic , very athletic , two handed combination puncher , solid power and has a good array of punches including a bazooka jab. He's a well rounder in every area.
At one point I used to consider Jermell the more fundamentally sound twin, but that may have changed recently. Honestly, I don't think either twin is a truly special fighter. We'll probably find out the true depth of their abilities next year
Well for me he hasn't done anything significant at 160. Anyone in the top 200 would Beat Handicap Heiland that night
Maybe if he got creamed by Pirog and beaten by GGG people would like him more. He's a good up and comer with potential , nothing more. The Heiland fight was a disaster for his reputation but its no fault of his own that Heiland came to fight with an injury. He should have cancelled or postponed.
This. However, he's still hard to judge, since his competition hasn't been good enough to test him. Hopefully he fights the winner of Lara-Hurd, since that will answer a lot of questions about how good he really is.
The Charlos brothers I believe have elite talent. Jermell has knocked out his last two opponents in stunning fashion. I think Jermall (160) is going to try and have a crazy knockout next Saturday so he can raise his stock in the middleweight division. His first fight at 160 he displayed some smart IQ in the ring although he was up against a crippled fighter, but this next fight, I expect fireworks.
both charlo brothers are good, the both fight quality guys an there both getting better. if they keep it up and keep improving n working hard then there gonna be around for a while.
I like the kids and expect Jermall to keep improving with each fight They both have spirit and desire to take on all comers
Do they need to be labelled as one or the other? Both brothers, IMO, are NOT elite yet, but they can reach that level. Truth be told, neither has the CV or simply wins to be considered elite. They are entering their physical primes, and I fully expect their level to go up, and remain high as both will be titlists/champs/top contenders for a while. Let their careers play out for a bit before looking to label them. Should be noted, only Jermall is at 160 right now. Jermell is still at JrMw.
At this point “hype job” is silly. They’ve both proven themselves to be world class fighters already. Whether they can prove themselves to be special, elite level guys remains to be seen
