Jermell followed in the footsteps of Kovalev, Smith, Yildrim etc

Eubank is a lot easier to hit than Canelo. Boxing is a lot more complicated than "just punch him back".

Each of these guys took radically different approaches to fighting Canelo. To claim that Jermell followed in any of their footsteps is laughable. The closest would be Callum Smith who was also comprohensively outboxed over 12 rounds, though Jermell has better defensive and speed than Callum Smith and took less damage, so even that's not really a good comparison.

I dont think they were fixes rather the deck is so stacked against his opponents Canelo could get struck by lighting and still win.
Kov was shot and an alcholic in need of a big payday and Canelo played to that.

Kov was shot to bits and every single person knew that. Yarde isnt that good and he strugged with basically a limited boxer.
Charlo is a complete mess and has been for awhile but has a pretty expensive lifestyle that he needs to pay for and hes not a draw.
Not to mention he fought in a different weight class which hes never fought in before.

Now there are only TWO boxers that Canelo should be talking about fighting AND they are in his weightclass.
And I promise you neither one of their names come up.

Some people would rather believe that Canelo is one Machiavellian mofo than to give him credit for being a great fighter.

It’s too easy to say stupid things like this with no actual evidence.

If you’ve ever participated in combat sports, or in athletics really, you can understand why Kovalev was flat on the night…. With the circumstances of his preparation for the fight and the stuff that happened on the night with delaying the bout due to the UFC card - it’s not surprising he turned up flat.

I remember the flattest I was fighting in the amateurs. I had woke up at 4 am for work, and didn’t end up fighting til midnight the next day as they decided to make me one of the last bouts on the card. Flattest I’d ever been in a fight.

Wrt Jermell, did it ever occur to anyone that maybe he thought he could outbox Canelo or tire him out? Or maybe once he felt Canelo, it affected hi mentally… Or does everyone really think he was planning to move up two weight classes and bully Canelo?

Ironically, the only time I’ve seen a fighter try that was Canelo with Bivol - and we saw how poorly that played out… to this day I can’t figure out why he thought he was gonna be able to 1 shot KO Bivol and seemingly refused to put more than 1 punch at a time together…..

    Shady how?
I get your not expecting little dude Nelo to spark out the “mighty Kovalev “

    Kovalev has been washed
It’s why he was chosen… a premium name washed alcoholic coming in 8 weeks after a fight
Enticed by the richest “PeyDey” he has ever seen. His strategy was sound
    He was winning the fight.
He just got systematically broke down & KO’d.

how did kovalev look in his fight with yarde
8 weeks prior Or in his previous fights with
    Eleider Alvarez before that?
The answer is vulnerable which is why the fight was made to begin with - aka “The Fix” :deal:
    what has KOvalev done since?

Charlo's are nowhere near good enough to beat Canelo no matter what.

I mentioned this before, but added that Canelo had way more to gain legacy wise by beating Bivol at 175 than beating a 154 pounder jumping 2 divisions to defend the 168 belt.
