Just caught yet another Ali documentary on ESPN and the usual suspects were trotted out for their 'expertise'. Then it dawned on me that every single time that ive seen this guy speaking hes talks an incredible amount of ****. Now these are'nt fights that are so obscure that you have no choice but to accept the guys views as hes seen them and you havent. These are fights that the whole world has seen and anyone with a more than passing interest could offer up an argument to what he says.

I dont mean to badmouth the guy as ive just came across him 5 or 6yrs ago therefore i dont know a great deal about him. Maybe he was a respected analyst or boxing affisionado back in the day, and now aint in the best of health or something so you give him a bye-ball for what hes did in the past. I just find it hard to fathom how some of these guys get paid to trot out the same ol **** over and over and how i could get a job like that.

Could anyone give me their views on this or is it just me being over-sensitive. I know this doesnt count as 'classic' but i respect the views of quiet a lot of guys on this forum and its the only one i would use anyway

I would agree. I find him to be pretty good.

Some writers have an up close and personal perspective of fighters that most people outside looking in dont share. I believe Izenberg was pretty close with Ali.

Ulitmately its just another person's opinion that may be swayed by his love for Ali.

What did you find so far off base?
