????? Jerry avoids most of Frank's dangerous early work, then counterpunches his way to a late round stoppage. Bruno would be out on his feet, and Quarry would know that he'd been in a fight.

Quarry takes Bruno apart, most likely stopping him in the later rounds. He had no problem with big limited lugs like Bruno.

Or Brunos jab cuts Quarrys face to shreds.

I agree with Stevie G's analysis though; a genuinely intriguing fight this is, and would be quality to watch IMO.

I think Quarry stops him eventually.

Quarry would stop him if fired up well. Either Quarry takes the early punches and stops him mid-late....or Bruno cuts him up and stops him.

Quarry would do to him what he did to Ron Lyle and Mac Foster who was not as stiff

Tough call, my gut says Quarry by decision but Bruno would be very dangerous for the first 4-5 rounds. If Bruno could cut Quarry early I could see him stopping him inside of 6 or 7 rounds.

I wouldn't really consider Bruno limited. He was big, strong, had good power, a good jab, decent overall skills, fair chin but a lot of heart (99% of the time).

Remember, he was stopped by a prime Bonecrusher in the 10th and final round while up on points. He was stopped by a prime Witherspoon in the 11th round while down by a couple of points. He was stopped in the 7th round by a prime Lewis while ahead on points... he never did go down vs. the very powerful Lennox Lewis. Was Quarry better than Witherspoon? I don't think so. Was he better than Smith? It's a toss up but Smith had way more size, power and was pretty durable, he wasn't a bleeder. He damn sure was no Lennox Lewis!

The only really bad losses Bruno had were vs. Mike Tyson (LKOby5 in '89 and LKOby3 in '96). He did decent vs. Tyson in '89 before getting stopped, he even rocked Tyson. Quarry didn't have the speed, strength, power, or durability of Tyson.

So (Lewis form) Bruno vs. Quarry at his best? I could see Bruno kicking his ass into a bloody mess but I could see Quarry winning as well.

I'll vote Bruno by stoppage just to be different. Final answer!

Jerry Quarry was probably better when sized up to the rest of the field, but I don't know if he beats Bruno head to head. As Hookie already pointed out, Bruno's jab and strait right were almost as good as anyone's. He arguably had more punching power than nearly anyone Quarry fought, except Shavers, but Earnie never had a chance to land, and there's no way Jerry is taking out Frank in only one round the way he did Earnie. A 27 year old Bruno with over 30 fights of experience is going to be a lot tougher than a 33 year old Lyle with only 19 bouts and his best win coming against Larry middleton. Frank's durability was better than most give it credit for. He took multiple shots from Tyson, Witherspoon and Lewis, while still fighting back with heart. Quarry did not have the physcial tools nor power to pressure Bruno the way that those guys did.

I go with Frank by stoppage.. He had too many of all the wrong things that troubled Quarry.

Bruno was a very good fighter. Unfortunately he was only a very good fighter for about the first two thirds of a fight, after that he was ripe for the picking. Tyson is the only fighter that got the better of him and disposed of him before the second half of a fight, that's not bad considering Frank was also in with Lewis, Witherspoon, Smith, McCall.

I'd say it would be a close fight but once Bruno starts slowing down, Quarry takes over and finishes him anytime after 8.

Yeah, Quarry gets caught a few times early but finishes a gassed bruno late in the fight.

Can anyone please tell me where Bruno displayed this 'great power' he supposedly had. I cant think of one fighter who wasnt a tomato can, that bruno put down nevermind KO. Having big muscles and a sculpted body does not equate to great power
