Jerry Quarry Versus Jimmy Young

I consider Quarry to be the better fighter but I think the styles here slightly favor Young.

I take Quarry in this one.

 

I’d take Quarry also by way of out working Jimmy…BUT, like several of Young’s matches, and mainly due to Jimmy’s spoiling style, it might not be an easy fight to score.

Young’s best moments during the fight would likely appear that much better than Quarry’s best moments - but again, I think Quarry does more and scores more over the route to take the points.

 

They say that Willie Pep once won a round without throwing a punch. Young won a career while doing the same. Great fighter. Young by a type of decision.

Young at his best almost beat Ali. Quarry was beaten by Ellis Machen and Chuvalo. Young is better then all of them.
