Yeah as much as I love Quarry who has a great track record against big punchers, Anthony Joshua might be reaching too far. Joshua I’d 6’6” and a muscular 240-245 lbs. he’s also capable of going 12rounds. And while he’s no wizard in the skills department, he has enough fundamentals to at least complement his huge physical advantages

While I agree, and have given you a like; if it's the foregone conclusion you think it is (I do as well) why even make the thread?

Jerry Quarry has wins over Shavers and Lyle, so a case could be built. On the other hand, AJ also has wins (by knockout) over Wlad, Povetkin and White...
Before Ruiz AJ wins; post Ruiz AJ... not so sure, that's another boxer (another man).

All I can say in Quarry's favor is that P4P Jerry probably wins.

As big as Joshua is, he is mentally soft. I really don't see this fight as much different than Quarry's fights against Shavers or Foster. He tamed both of those big punchers in short order. Quarry was an excellent counter puncher who is not afraid to get in close to land his shots. And, Quarry is a better, more proven puncher than tubby Ruiz. Obviously, I am not ruling out a Joshua win, because with the massive size advantage, Joshua could potentially bust Jerry up over time. But, Joshua ain't stopping Quarry with just one shot. And, I would bet the farm on Quarry against the post Ruiz Joshua.

Yeah I think people are selling Quarry a bit short here he excelled against big punchers like Foster, Lyle, Shavers, etc.

The fighters who beat Quarry in his prime was an ATG swarmer like Frazier. Ali another ATG who was fleet footed extremely fast athletic fighter. And finally Ellis who had to fight a very cautious fight doing his impression of Ali to win a competitive decision.

Quarry would find countering opportunities vs Joshua, the issue is that Joshua might be a bit too big for Quarry.

But it's certainly not the forgone conclusion that people are saying.

Quarry would historically possibly be the best opponent Joshua has ever fought who was in his prime.
