Despite Georgia hosting the return of Ali, the overall event was a hot seller in 1970. Jerry Q. was a prime choice at that juncture.. Ali at 210 pounds was lean and spry in them 3 rds of action... That comeback fight was a success all around... Peace... MR.BILL:bbb
Jerry Quarry was getting that fight, regardless of his outcome with Mac Foster. If Jerry doesn't get cut,,,,,,,,,,that would have been one hell-of-a bout.
Quarry too strong and hit too hard for Bob Foster. Foster's skinny legs would fold under him within three rounds.
i like both fighters and each is great at their respective best weight.poor bob will be out of luck again.the punches that would ko any light heavy in history wouldn't bother quarry.i'll give it 10 before quarry would bust him up. good match up though
Quarry would have been extra motivated to avenge his brother's beheading...and he would have in a spectacular sort of way...more like blasting Foster out in 2 or 3...no beat down would be necessary...but Foster may have been able to inflict a cut before then...which would have helped light a fire under Quarry's ass even more.
The more probable outcome is Quarry by KO , but Foster by decision or even TKO (cuts) decision are hard to rule out.
Jerry could take a punch, but he was floored several times by medium-power fighters. You could see Bob Foster landing several right hand bombs, before gassing out in the fight. His legs would go out, as a result of JQ's left hooks to the body. TKO 4
