If pressed, Evander lands punches from every angle. Every punch in the book. Holyfield KO

Quarry on his best night is a phenomenal counter-puncher. Even if this Quarry showed up, I don't think he'd be sufficient to defeat Holyfield. Between the two hard-luck warriors, Holyfield survived far worse beatings by far more ferocious punchers. I cannot see Quarry winning on points either.

The two play the same sort of game when it comes to war of attrition, which is what the fight between the two would be which I can say with certainty. Holyfield and Quarry both are known for testing the mettle toe-to-toe with their opponents in wars when they have the chance, and I can't see Holyfield ever losing this. Holyfields fights with Bowe are enough to show me he has the chin and heart to beat Quarry even if he some how couldn't overpower or outbox him which i'm fairly sure he would.

Its the Holyfield that fought Qwai im talking talking about. The raw Holyfield. The Cruiserweight Holyfield.

The Holyfield that fought Bowe was muscled up by steroids and on other PEDS.

The cruiserweight Holyfield of 1987 either stops Quarry via late round TKO or wins a UD. Quarry tries to war with Holyfield but is consistently beaten to the punch

They had comparable styles, both had quick hands and threw snappy combinations. Both liked to finish with the lefthook downstairs.

Entertaining all the way though I thought Qawi beat Holyfield in that first bout his overall performance was top notch. Evander generally doesn't cut or get to busted up even in some of the wars he's had.

I think Quarry might be winning this one based on experience up until his tendency to cut (bad cuts) would bite him in the ass. Holyfield being a slashing type of puncher could probably get a stoppage based on Jerry's history.

I'd pick Holyfield. Faster, quicker, longer, stronger, more versatile. I like JQ but EH is not some protected "prospect" like Mac Foster, or even Ron Lyle. EH could beat JQ by boxing and moving using his jab or he could go inside and war with him for a round or two while taking a few and giving back more, like Frazier did. JQ couldn't keep up the pace with JF and EH would probably frustrate/tire him quicker because he could move the fight to another range then move it inside again. JQ didn't have the stamina or the quickness to threaten EH.

I'd pick Qawi to beat JQ too. Especially if Qawi was in great condition around 180-85 pounds. Both of them would probably like to fight at about the same range but for me, Qawi is quicker, puts punches together better and is a better inside fighter.

So I take it this is a steroid free Evander at around 195 lbs...Evander probably takes a close decision but it ain't written in stone.

Holyfield batters him, Quarry’s face would be a mess when it’s stopped on cuts.
    Terrible style matchup for Quarry.
Holyfields constant bouncing and foot feints would throw off Quarry’s timing, Holyfield wasn’t predictable with his attacks as Lyle was, which allowed Quarry to know what was coming every time there was movement from Lyle, he knew it was gonna be a big punch, rather than being made to keep guessing, Lyle was flat footed and didn’t vary his attacks or make his attacks unpredictable with feints etc.
Holyfield would be bouncing, feinting up and down, leading in different ways, lead hooks, jabs to the head and body, lead rights, Quarry would have to react on the spot more which is much harder
In summary, he knew what was coming with Lyle, whereas with Holyfield, he wouldn’t.
