Very close imo. If Braddock is healthy and in good shape he would be some trouble for Quarry. Quite underrated due to his many losses but if you look why he had them they lose a bit of their weight. Won´t pick a winner here but it would be close.

Braddock's durability might spell problems for Quarry here. He was all but indestructible.

Quarry all the way. Faster, more skilled, hit harder, etc...

I would be inclined to go with Quarry, but only because he appears to be a more polished boxer on film as well as having beaten a better list of opponents. His counter punching style would keep Jim at bay enroute to a wide decision in my opinion. But make no mistake about it, Braddock was tough as nails, and Quarry was not particularly devasting in most of his showings. Braddock would be in there until the very end, and in all likelyhood, both men would finish with bloody, swollen faces.

Tough, brutal fight that would go the distance on sheer will. Win Braddock by SD.

Two of my favorites hate to see a loser!

Could this look similar to Quarry's fight with Ellis?

One thing i think many people forget about Jerry is how hard he could punch.. He was a decent KO artist.. Braddock would have to really be on his A- game to outhustle him, he was also very easily drawn into a brawl.. sometimes not to his best interests.. This fight is a hard one to call..

    Braddock had a tremendous chin.

    Only Louis ever stopped him.

    quarry ud.

quarry had more skills and more attributes. he could outbox braddock...if he is smart or go into an inside fight....which will become a much harder fought ud for quarry.

my feelings are that braddock just cant deal with a boxer. he can chase a mover but he made up for it for being a tall guy who coudl envelope you. if you stayed behind a jab and some solid punches to keep him from getting to close to you and backing him up...chin question out the window. a guy with a good chin can be backed up.

quarry has the punch to keep him off him
the combinations to out hustle if braddock does get too close for comfort.
a solid enough outside plan so not to get in a turf war
also he could/can counter very effectively, usually against less mobile opponants

but i dont want to diminish braddock he is no mug and will be a rock to grind down. he will win a few rounds due to jerry's weired spells of output at points. he is an underated fighter who can beat alot of fighters...i just feel jerry is too adept against him. fraizer, ali, lyle were monsters of the ring.

jimmy ellis was an awkward slick fighter and in that jimmy was a better fighter than people give him credit for. anyways it was a close fight if not a dodgy decision

Ellis won it convincingly for me,the referee gave him 10 of the 15 rounds. It was a stinker of a fight.
