Jerry Quarry vs. Micheal Dokes

    No, I think Dokes would do it on his own.

    They were both hot and cold. We know about Dokes' cocaine use because it has been widely chronicled. Jerry, rumor has it, also did his share of drinking and drugging in the later part of his career. I don't want to dwell on personal demons but since Dokes' drug use was mentioned it was only fair to mention Quarry's alleged indulgences also. Anyway, I think Dokes' style could give Quarry problems. Dokes, like Ellis, like to jump on a fellow early and try to catch him cold and bomb him out of there. I think Ellis was leery of trying this with Quarry who had his share of big first-round kayos in his own right (Bodell, Shavers). Peak on peak I would go with Quarry to win inside the distance. Dokes had an okay (not great) chin that Quarry could dent. On the other hand, Quarry had sufficient power to really affect Dokes.

    Quarry by late stoppage.
