Torrez has a good chance of winning this but not because of any evolution. Quarry is a more skilled technically better boxer and counter puncher. However, Torrez has faster hands, hits harder and is a southpaw to top that. Quarry never had to deal with a southpaw let alone one who hits hard and has fast hands. I could see a variety of scenarios. I could see Torrez just beating Quarry to the punch with his quicker hands, cutting him and stopping him. I could also see Quarry's technically shorter punches landing first and counter punching his way to a decision win. 50/50 fight. Quarry is a more skilled technically superior fighter. If Torrez wins, it will be due to having quicker hands and hitting harder, not because of any skill "evolution".
Torrez Jr. is a kind of modern Quarry, a strong fighter, a hard puncher, I have to go with Torrez Jr. on this one...
I would pick Quarry by KO. I think highly of Richard Torrez Jr. skill wise, but he seriously has a suspect chin. He got knocked out cold by Jalolov in the AMATEURS. Can Torrez prove to be the better fighter than Quarry in the future? Of course. But that chin is definitely a limiting factor.
