Charles kept up the attack because he was OLD and had OLD LEGS and had no choice ... this is thew point about the Marciano victories his hardcore fanatics simply cannot own up to ... yes Charles and Walcott were still very good but they were great in name only ... they lacked the legs needed to survive long bouts with a young Marciano, got forced to trade more than they would have i their primes basically playing into Rocky's strength and lost .. no surprise there ..

Why laugh...? Marciano KO'd a buncha' 185 to 200 pounders for the most part, with Carmine Vingo being the exception.... Quarry generally had to pound on dude's 200 pounds + in his heyday...

Quarry fought a tougher crop of mothers than Marciano did... Marciano's resume looks good on paper, but his reign was riddled with old farts...

And I'm sure dude's like "Frazier, Lyle, Shavers, Patty & Ellis" would've said Quarry had a wicked punch when it landed flush if they were asked up front....

For being 6' and 196 pounds in his peak yrs, Quarry was a puncher...:bbb

Anyone can and will have off nights........ Prime Patty and Ellis would give Marciano fits and trouble in a time machine... It wouldn't be easy for Marciano...

I didn't indicate ease, I indicated extreme unlikelihood of seeing the distance. Big difference, brother Bill. Big, big difference. Quarry had a punch, but he was not a puncher. Quarry is not anywhere near Marciano there. This is silliness. There's simply no rational argument to argue that case. None.

Marciano's storied power of being a "One Punch" KO artist is fabled to a large degree... Okay, so he parked Joe Wally two times with one shot in 1952 and 1953... Who else did he wax with a single blow? It took a volley of punches for Marciano to stop "Louis, Charles, Cockell & Moore."

Gilbert Clancy used to say that Foreman was a clubber, not a true puncher... Foreman would club you to death...

Well, Marciano clubbed many of his victims to death... Christ, Ol' Marciano threw everything and the kitchen sink at Moore before he finally stayed down in round 9...

Don "The ****" Cockell was stopped on his feet by Marciano in round 9...

Cockell was brutalized and bounced around the ring, short guys are hard to KO ask Holyfield (Cyz -5"8) ask Foreman (Big Foot Martin 5-11) Quawi-5"7
ask Shavers (Bob Stallings 5"10)...Ask Ali-Joe Frazier 5"11, Doug Jones, 5"11....still Cockel was brutalized vs Marciano, he had courage and tried his best and it was not Rocky s most inspired performance but Cockell was slaughtered nevertheless

There was a short heavyweight trail horse around in the late 60's early 70's about 5"9 George"Scrap iron" Johnson, he was a rugged fire-pump

I think Layne, Walcott and Matthews, for starters. And those were top heavies of the era, one being one of the most famous and devastating kayos ever. What about Quarry's one-punch knockouts? Also, 87% knockout ratio, 48% knockout ratio. How is this even an argument going on here?

Edit: Oh, you meant Joe Walcott. Sorry, that "Wally" threw me.

Short guys are hard to kayo, right?

Cockell's record shows NINE knockout losses.

162 pound Randy Turpin knocked him down three times.

Yep, Layne took one big right, didn't get up.

Matthews, technically two left hooks and you couldn't say if it ends without both but you can see the one-punch power is big and he doesn't make the count. This is two punches in the second round, not some bludgeoning, grind you down affair but vicious quick work from a two-fisted power puncher. That's not Quarry.

He waxed and Ruined 34-1-1 Rex Layne who had beaten the man he lost and drew with...and it was done with one short-weird angled right hand that severed all of Layne's top teeth Harry Mathews caught 2 left hooks...there were many other one shot KO's in Rocco's resume but guys like Foreman, Lennox,Bowe,Evander,Dempsey,Tyson,Frazier and even the great Joe Louis usually had to land more than one shot for the KO

Cockell got up 3 times vs Turpin and he was a middleweight also...Heavyweight Champ Jimmy Ellis(who beat Quarry) was KD vs middleweight Ruben Carter....Vincente Rondon went the distance with Heavyweight Earnie Shavers but was KO'd by middleweight Bennie Briscoe
