Marciano was not on ***** street after the knockdown, Marciano went back to give himself and Moore more room.

Quarry the counterpuncher against one of the hardest punchers in history? What a bloody mess. Quarry gets taken out early.

Let me make one more point in defense of Quarry. Although I still favor Marciano in this matchup I think it's still a fact that Quarry fought better punchers than Rocky did. Frazier and Shavers hit harder...wait, make that quite a bit harder than Moore, Charles and Walcott. I'm not saying these three couldn't punch, they could, but the fact is they didn't punch in the same league as those two. Plus Quarry fought faster men as well. Frazier was constantly on the attack whipping left hooks and right hands and who the hell was faster than Ali? Certainly none of Rocky's opponents were. Overall I think Jerry fought a greater collection of good big men than Rocky did. Most of Rocky's opponents weighed less than 200lbs while most of Jerry's opponents weighed more than 200lbs. Would Marciano have been as successful fighting in the late 60's and 70's? Maybe but I think not. More quality big men period. That doesn't mean that Quarry was better than Marciano or that he would beat him but it is food for thought. I still like Rocky in this matchup but I don't think we should dismiss Jerry's chances either.
