Jerry Quarry vs these 1930s champions

He has a chance against all of them but in reality he’d probably lose to 1 or 2

 

As much as I find Quarry overrated, he should sweep this list handily with possible exceptions of Schmeling and Sharkey.

 

Schmeling, Baer and maybe Sharkey beat him imo

 

I dunno exactly, but Quarry would be right in the mix.
I doubt he would beat everyone!

Baer? The kind of slugger that Quarry may well take out or outpoint, I favor him based upon his record against broadly similar types.
Schmelling or Sharkey AT his best? I could see them go either way.
Carnera? I make Quarry a slight favorite.
Galento? Has little chance against Quarry.

 

Schmeling who IMO can be underrated here beats him. Sharkey beats him if he's not on one of his manic cycles. Baer should beat him but won't. (The more I look into Baer, it's not that I have less respect for him, I respect anyone who gets in the ring and puts his arse on the line, but I see him as a wasted talent, although one old book I once read on heavyweight champions ended the chapter on him talking about how he got out with his brains and his money intact and had loads of fun along the way, so who am I to judge?) He beats Carnera. He should beat Galento, but Tony has a puncher's chance.

 

Quarry fought tougher competetion then all these guys, and I believe would sweep them. Jerry would be a champion

 

i like schmelling's chances.

 

I think Schmeling could work with Quarry on a boxing level and win. Galento, but even moreso Baer could bomb him out. I think he would beat Sharkey and KO Carnera.

 

Schmeling beats him, I think he takes the rest.

Loses to Max Schmeling
Loses to Jack Sharkey
Beats Primo Carnera
Beats Tony Galento

 

Baer and Schmeling have the best chance of beating him. Jerry Quarry would beat the rest.

 

3-2 seems about right but it's possible he takes another to go 4-1. If he could beat Lyle and Shavers he can beat Baer.
