Bugner and Quarry both on a good night would make for a very fine fight. Both Quarry and Bugner were quite good at the peaks of there career.

Quarry, at his best, vs. each man, at his best, beats everyone on the list.

Sure Quarry lost to Chuvalo, tough fight, Jerry was ahead and George looked a mess, George lands big left hook, Quarry blows the count, George wins. In a rematch Jerry fights smart and wins by a wide decision.

The most difficut fight to predict won be Quarry vs Bonavena.

I can't see how anyone would think Bugner or Wepner would beat Quarry.

As for Jerry Quarry? I'm thinking you must be a relative of his or something. Have you ever even seen Jerry Quarry fight a good Heavyweight? Ali x2, Frazier x2, Norton, a past prime Patterson x2, Ellis, a past prime Machen, Chuvalo, a pre prime Lyle, Shavers, Mathis, Spencer, Foster... others? Sure, Quarry fought some great fighters, he even beat some very good fighters, but he lost badly when he fought the best.

Bonavena was a good fighter and I think he could have earned a win over Quarry, just a fvcking opinion you crazy azshole! Bugner? It could go either way but as I mentioned earlier... I don't feel real good about this pick, I'm just saying he had a shot. Wepner and some others? No, Quarry beats them.

Quarry was good, but he wasn't great... get over it dude... no amount of revision is going to change that.

I think most of the head to head scenarios are based on fighters when they are at their peak performance.

Quarry was inconsistent with his performances, but based on him being at his best and his opponent being at his best, I don't see these guys, with the exception of Bonavena, beating Quarry.

 

I think that if Quarry had rematched Chuvalo he likely would have won. In their initial meeting, Jerry was beating George, got tagged and went down, then for whatever reason decided to stay down there but mistimed the count. Lame excuse on the surface but I don't think he was hurt. As for the others I can see him besting Wepner, Kirkman, Peralta, Urtain, Bobick, and Cooper. Bugner would be a tough fight given Joe's size and survival skills. But his safety first and non aggressive style be ill favored by the judges who'd likely give it to the busier Quarry.. Bonavena might be a pain in his ass.
