I ordered the new biography on walcott by James curll. Excellent Read, a lot of great insightful information on his home life, career, and rare fights I will post information later I got from the book on his fights with Lorenzo pack Abe Simon Lee q Murray Joe Baksi Ollie tandberg Elmer Ray Tiger Jack fox Hatchetman Sheppard Joey Maxim Joe Louis Ezzard charles Rocky Marciano Harold Johnson Al ettore Steve ketchell Roxie Allen Jimmy Bivins Lee oma Tommy Gomez Willie reddish Henry Taylor And more Walcott was a GREAT fighter
Yep, it's a great read. Very insightful about the man himself and his career. Provides a rare perspective on his big fights and also his rise through the ranks...he had it hard on the way up. There's so much emphasis these days on the "0", it's really a different sport these days, the way fighters are managed. Give any fighter JJW's earlycareer schedule/management/fights etc, I doubt anyone comes through it undefeated. A great fighter, absolutely no question about it.
Give any fighter JJW's earlycareer schedule/management/fights etc, I doubt anyone comes through it undefeated. and I would including to that FastHands, that not only would there be No O's, many, and I mean many, would fall by the wayside or be relegated into journeymen or clubfighter status rather quickly, as it did for thousands of fighters.
All I can find is one by James Curl who came out in 2012. Is this the one to which OP is referring? Please link to the amazon page to the book to which you are referring. Thanks.
