Jersey Joe Walcott dad had a vision that he would be HW champion of the world

Interesting, because Marciano took the title off of him, and Marciano's mother had a prognostication that she needed his prayers, lighting 13 candles in the the church instead of the usual 1. What round did Marciano stop Walcott in?

I guess parents have a way of knowing.

 

Any source on that story? Can't find it anywhere but interesting stuff.

 

Seems like the story comes from this book, but is it actually true? In the interview with Rocky's mother, she just says she put up a 'bunch of candles' in the church. Perhaps the legend became 13 later on, or it was used as a promotional tool.
